  • Great for filling stripped screw holes in plastic
Size: 2 oz
The screws that hold my RV furnace cover on were completely stripped. I used this product to fill in the holes so they could be re-drilled and re-screwed. It worked great for that. I could not even find another product that claimed to be good for this purpose, so I was very pleased at how well this worked. ... show more

  • A Small DIY Marvel that Packs a Punch!
Size: 2 oz
So far, I have enjoyed using this epoxy putty. Its ease of use is the equivalent of spreading butter on a hot toast. But it's not just easy to use, it's also the perfect size for your toolbox. The value for money is the cherry on top. However, I do wish there were more size options. So, if you're a DIY enthusiast like me, go for this, it's a toolbox must-have! ... show more

  • Came in clutch for a failed print
Size: 2 oz
Had a very large, multi-day 3d print fail on me. I was able to print the missing portion but needed to bond the two areas together. because of the large area I needed something with decent working time that would hold over a surprisingly small actual contact area. This was exactly what I needed. so pros: 1) allowed me to fill in the infill at the contact area to create more surface area for the bond. 2) easy to work with after i got a method down (I recommend a test round on something if it's your first time using it before moving onto your project so you get a feel for it) 3) shapeable both during application and after to help smooth out the shame of your failures 4) surprisingly strong. I needed the bond to hold about a kilo of weight, and after some testing that appears to be more than easy for this. 5) probably the longest working time out of the alternatives for what I was trying to do. (i.e. CA glue, plastic cement... etc) Cons: 1) just a touch less working time then I would have hoped for. it said 25 minutes, but started to get hard to work with around 15 minutes. Again, WAY more than my other options, but it did lead to extra post processing work I would have liked to avoid. 2) it's a touch harder once cured than the plastic around it, so when sanding it I was tending to take away more of the base material than than the epoxy, but i sort of expected this going into it. Until I find a better option for this specific use case, this will remain my top choice. ... show more

  • Flower pot functional again!
Size: 2 oz
I accidentally pushed a bamboo pole through the side of a very large 20” resin flower pot. I was not about to replace it considering the cost was going to be over $50. I looked around and came across this JB Weld for plastic. I’d heard about JB Weld from my husband and sons for years but not anything specific so I decided on this product in particular because of what they said. They’re all handy and are willing to fix anything before buying new so I figured I might as well give it a try. The main break in the pot was about 10” long and jagged with another 5” break coming off of the main break. I completely rough sanded the interior of the pot so the weld would have a rough area to attach to on both sides of the break. I followed the directions and completely mixed the substance together wearing rubber gloves. I rolled it out like Plato like I did with my kids. I placed it on the crack and pushed and feathered it out about an inch in total across. I repeated the same on the attached jagged crack. I put it out in the sun and the next day went back to find a completely hardened surface and the crack on the outside barely distinguishable. I then sanded the entire outside of the pot and spray painted it. It looks brand new almost. The former break can be seen a bit but all I have to do is turn that part toward the wall. I admit I used the entire amount and I probably put it on thicker than it needed to be but considering the total opening was almost 15” I believe it to be the right amount. I will definitely be purchasing more and keeping it on hand! ... show more

  • Depends on project
Size: 2 oz
3.5 stars for potential. The idea of a putty appealed to me instead of using Bondo which is messy and stinky. My garbage men continuously break my expensive yard waste bins. I thought I would give this a go in rebonding them. It was easy to use and it held up for a while but The fact that the bins are being hastily thrown it only lasted about a month. I do think this product would work great for the right project. This just wasn't one of them. Would try it again on something different in the future for sure. ... show more

  • Wow! it worked on my CPVC leak.
Size: 2 oz
I noticed a slow dripping leak recently in a difficult spot to repair. It was dripping once every 30 seconds or so. I turn off the water main, drained the pipes, dried and lightly sanded and cleaned the pipe and elbow at the joint. After mixing about half of the putty I rolled out a strip long enough to wrap around the joint and tried to pack it in tight against the leaking joint, really cramming, trying to get it in the leak. Smoothed it out and then rolled 2 more strips to wrap around the pipe and elbow and applied them on each side of the joint. Smoothed out all and waited 4 hours before turning the water back on. It's been 4 days and you can see the dry- as- a-bone plastic bowl I had been using to catch the drip. I'll still check the spot for water once a week for a while until I'm totally convinced this is a permanent repair. I didn't have to buy CPVC pipe, elbow, pipe adapter, primer and adhesive so this saved me some bucks and time, if it holds! I will update this review if it fails. ... show more

  • It didn't work
Size: 2 oz
I have used J-B Weld products for years, but this was my first experience with the plastic weld. It was extremely hard to mix. The color differential between the catalyst and the epoxy was nil, so very hard to tell if it was mixed right. It became very sticky during mixing and wanted to stick to my nitrile gloves more than to the plastic kayaks I was working on. The plan was an overlay to see if it would save the plastic from abrasion. It spread well and seemed to adhere. It set hard, but had basically zero abrasion resistance. ... show more
