  • Very quiet and works so far
Size: 51 Bottle Color: Black
I called them up and they told me to hold the lock sign down for 5 seconds and then to change the temp before pressing lock again. Then I set it at 55F and all the areas were going 56F except the top level was 61F. 56F made the main go to 58F which is perhaps slightly too high for long-term aging. One can put quicker drinking bottles on the top level, where a bottle can fit sideways on the front metal piece neck facing right. With that, I have placed 51 bottles exactly, and about 10-12 of those are bigger sized. The trick is to put bottles all the way in the back with necks facing FORWARD and then bottles in the front with necks facing BACKWARD. That is why this unit is DEEP and holds so much more. And the other nice thing is that this is so quiet! Three weeks so far. ... show more

  • Stainless w/Wood Shelves - Great (And Unique) Wine fridge IF it Fits Your Particular Wine Needs
Size: 51 Bottle Color: Stainless Steel
I figure I should add all the crucial info for the wood shelf design and how this translates to your actual storage capacity, and most importantly, to answer the questions of what type of bottles this thing stores well, and those it does not. Even the MFC won't provide these #'s so hopefully this helps you. Top Shelf: 5 bottles, max height 3 3/16"+ (3 1/4" will barely fit but it causes friction, so I wouldn't recommend it). Fits longer bottles which is nice. The tallest ones go here, cab be up to 16 long" Next 5 shelves: 7 bottles each, max height 3 3/16" exactly. If bottles are longer than standard, the every other bottle scheme will not work. Pinot generally was solid here, cab too. Some standard 4" Italian bottles were too tall for these shelves. I don't really know what the max length is on these, depends on the shape of the bottle. Second from bottom: 5 bottles, max height 3 3/16" exactly. Fits longer bottles but only up to 12.5 long" Bottom: 4-6 bottles, max height 4" exactly. Fits longer bottles up to 12.5" long So, who does this RIGHT for? Well, for me, it works quite well - Width of fridge is 20" which was crucial for the space I put it in. I have not seen any other fridge that can store 50-51 bottles in this size. - I store mainly Pinot, Cab, Italian, and Chard/Whites. MOST of my bottles are standard height and <= 4 3/16" so I found an arrangement pretty fast that would fit 50 bottles. I don't think I'll do 6 on the bottom as that is where my fatter bottles will live. - I am going to put small labels on the shelves with the identifier of the wine, because once they are in the cooler, you are not going to want to pull them out to look at them to pick. Who is this fridge NOT for? - People who have a lot of fat or long bottles. Syrah is typically 3 1/4", and those will only fit on the bottom. Bubbly is even bigger and will also only fit on the bottom. - Per the above point, the only way to use the fridge for fat bottles is the 5 or so on the bottom row. Other people might remove a shelf and maybe even stack them, but you are gonna lose a ton of capacity. AND the shelves are deffo not designed for stacked loads. - People who want to dig through the cooler pulling wines in and out. The fridge is bit like playing Tetris. If you work with it, it's unique and solid and will serve you well. If you fight it, you will hate it. Not only that, but you need to slide the shelves out like 4-5" to actually fit the 3 3/16" bottles in. So not only will you have to pull out the front bottles to see the back, but you have to be quite careful if you are dealing with the larger bottles. - People who aren't careful with the shelves. The wood shelves feel pretty delicate to me. You might be able to force a bottle in, but you may well break the shelves doing it. (Top row comes to mind). You need to be careful with this fridge. All that being said, since I have standard bottles, and I don't collect bubbly, and the fat bottles in my storage are pretty limited, it works super well for me. Since I will be labeling the racks, I don't mind the Tetris of the cooler, as the weight and height vs capacity were key for me. I'm also the only one using it, so I can be careful enough to not damage the racks. Pros: - High capacity for storage for size. - Pretty quiet, was surprised how quiet actually. - Looks really nice! Matches the other stainless stuff in my kitchen. - Seems to keep a pretty consistent temp once your collection is at the temp of the cooler. Until then, expect a 5 degree differential as it cycles on and off cooling all the mass. Temp matches my probe thermo well. I think this has a pretty long cycle, so it turns off even when the temp on the machine is 3-5 degrees higher than the the set temp. Not an issue in my case. Mine is in the kitchen though, this might be more problematic with high ambient air temps. Cons: - Shelf arrangement might be too finicky for some people. But it very much does fit 50-51 bottles if you don't have a lot of fat whites, bubbly, or syrah. If you collect those en majority, seriously - get a different fridge. You will hate this one. I have a second 18 bottle fridge where I store the big boys. On that note, the black model might be more forgiving in this regard. But you won't be able to store fat bottles in every row if it's like the 18 bottle model. - Weak shelves - I can live with this, but the shelves are delicate. Maybe consider the black wire model if you are a bit more hard on the fridge, or if strangers are using it who you cant control. - Lack of temperature lock. I have small kids and they love the buttons. There is no way to lock the temp on this model (the small 18 bottle has the lock, why not this one?). Annoying but I can live with it. Lastly, if you have a 24" wide space, this probably isn't the right fridge for you. There are a lot of compromises made for this to work in a 20" wide package. But for me that was a key limit, and I am pretty happy with this. I'd give it five stars for my use, but to be fair to the general users, it's 4/5 with the limits of bottle type. If you are space constrained though, and don't have a lot of odd or heavy bottles, this is a great fridge in a small good-looking package. Will update this as it ages. ... show more

  • Terrible service and a real hassle!
Size: 43 Bottle Dual Zone Color: Stainless Steel
Received with electronic control hanging loose in cooler. Plugged in and doesn’t work. I have tried on several occasions to contact the vendor but they don’t answer the phone and haven’t returned calls. Also the bottle storage shelves are too small. It says 43 bottles but only able to get 25 in.

  • Perfect for the wine drinker
Size: 51 Bottle Color: Black
I love it. My last one went kaput after ten years and this one seemed to be the best choice for my needs. It keeps a constant temperature, Looks great in my dining room and holds all of the wine that I like to keep on hand.

  • Cooler does not maintain an even temperature throughout the unit.
Size: 51 Bottle Color: Black
Pro's: - Very nice looking unit - Arrived on time, actually earlier than expected - Packaged very well, although the bottom of the shipping box was broken open, and there was a puncture hole in the top of the box, however there was no damage to unit Con's: - Does not hold 51 bottles, unless they are of 2 3/4" diameter; I have various size bottles with the majority of being 3' diameter; even with alternating the bottle orientation, I could not squeeze more than 36 bottles in this unit. - Most concerning is the temperature gradient seen from top to bottom of the unit; at a setting of 56 degrees the temp ranges from 58.5 (top rack) to 56 (middle level rack) to 50 (bottom rack); temperature reading was taken using an analog, digital, and infrared thermometers. Standard Error was +/- 0.75 degrees. Comments: As described in the description, I expected the fan circulation to deliver a consistent temperature throughout the unit. Or at least a tolerable +/- one degree temperature range. ... show more

  • Bottoms Up!
Size: 51 Bottle Color: Black
This was a gift for my mother. She recently got into wine making and needed a fridge for her wine. I wanted to get her one, in which locked, and that she could control her temperature from the outside of the fridge. This worked out great. I set it up and got it going to see how fast it would get to the temperature we needed of 55 degrees (F). It reached it's goal temp in just a little less than an hour. Once we determined this was working right, we started to fill in her wine. All her bottles fit easily. This 51 bottle fridge was exactly what she needed to keep her new collection of wine cool and at the right temp so that it keeps it's integrity. This is a 75lb fridge that has a reflective door, which is cool looking, but also keeps the wine in a dark cool place. This is the first of many I am sure if my mother keeps doing her wine making. At the time of these pictures this was a temporary spot for the fridge. You need space on the side back and top of the fridge. This is not a fridge you can stack on another...hence the empty wine rack on the top of it. But, the interior was as described. It fit all her wine well. I would so purchase this again! ... show more
