Description

You can automate your dust collection system with iVAC PRO accessories like the Tool Plus Sensor. The Tool Plus Sensor clamps onto the power cord without damaging the wire and automatically detects when your power tool is turned on by sensing the magnetic field around the power cord. When the power tool is turned on, the presence of that field is detected by the sensor and a wireless signal is sent to your iVAC PRO Remote Control to turn on the dust collector. Similarly, when the tool is turned off, the sensor detects the absence of the magnetic field and signals the iVAC PRO Remote Control to turn off the dust collector. The iVAC PRO Tool Plus Sensor can also send a signal to your iVAC PRO Auto Blast Gate to open or close when the tool powers on. iVAC PRO Remote Control, iVAC PRO Tool Plus Sensor and iVAC PRO Auto Blast Gate are each sold separately.

  • I recommend this as a relatively inexpensive way to automatically turn ...
I used this with a contactor to start my 1-1/2 hp dust collector. I also put several duplex outlets in series with the controlled outlet which allows me to run numerous tools with only one sensor. You are only limited by the amp rating of the receptacle and the connected tools. Since I only operate one tool at a time I have no problem with overloading the circuit. The controller does work down to around 32 degrees F. Below that it won’t start. I recommend this as a relatively inexpensive way to automatically turn you dust collector on and off ... show more

  • Saves me so much time!
This is my second unit. I have one for my table saw and another for my miter saw. It isn't particularly complicated. It just eliminates the wasted time for me to walk over to the dust collector every time I want to start or stop a tool. Now, I can just think about the specific tool I want to use and know that the dust will get collected with out any extra effort. One thing that I didn't plan for was an extra outlet for the USB power supply to power the sensor. So after a few weeks of draping the USB cables across the floor, I used a cabinet-mount mini power-strip (x2 outlets) which also has a dual USB 1A jack. So, I mounted these under or behind each tool and plugged the strip into the wall outlets. Then I plug the respective tool into the mini-strip and plug in the iVac sensor's USB A connector into the USB socket on the same strip. Now, I'm powering both the sensor and the tool itself over a single power cable. Just watch out because the mini-strip's rating is only 12A, which is a problem if your tool's current is >12A. Both of my saws are rated less than 12A and I have each one on a separate circuit breaker from each other and the dust collector. But the iVac Pro system is definitely worth the cost. I will be adding more sensors in the future for my router table and any future power tools. ... show more

  • Senses the flux-change from the power cord when you turn on your saw.
I must admit that this intimidated me for a little while because I was afraid it would not do what I wanted it to but, when I finally got to it, it worked. You clamp the inductive sensor around the switch-cord on your table saw (or other device). Then put the USB device into a 120-VAC outlet. Try it without changing the DIP switch settings first because, chances are, it'll work just as it comes to you. You turn the saw on and this device senses it and switches on your vacuum. Helps keep the sawdust out of my lungs. ... show more

  • Sensitive and reliable...
Sounds like a good women but I mean the automatic remote switch. I clamped it to the power cord of a CNC router so when the controller power it up, it starts the dust collector and shuts it off when the job is complete. Following the instructions it was simple to set up and calibrate to the tool. I was not sure whether or not it would be sensitive enough to activate at no load very low RPM (minimum current draw) but following the provided instruction it was easy to set the sensitivity. I have a handheld remote but it is usually on or near the last tool I used. Especially with the CNC which starts and stops the spindle under program control, it is handy not to have to find the remote and push the button, especially when the job is done. Works great, I may buy more for other tools as the switch suppprts multiple remotes and keeps track. ... show more

  • Outstanding Addition to my CNC
I use this on my home CNC machine with the dust collector. I was looking for a reasonable addition to that setup to be able to trigger my dust collection without popping a breaker on something. This attaches easily and was super simple to setup. My only ONLY complaint on this is that it uses a usb cable to power it. I intend to expand on this system at a later point with my new show and I absolutely do not want to run a USB cord to every single remote unit or have any other cords then necessary attached. I am not sure why there cannot be a battery pack or what not attached to this and I am sure that I can put a USB power stick near it but that is my biggest and only gripe. ... show more

  • It really works well.
I have two of these in my shop and will others when I expand my tools. They work really well and control the dust collector as intended. No more pushing buttons to turn on and off. Completely Automatic. Plus I was able to set the adjustment so that the light on my band saw can go on and off without triggering the Dust collection system. Very Happy. ... show more

  • slick setup
I clamped one tool sensor to the main feed for three machines (miter saw, jointer, planer). The dust collector starts every time any of the three machines start running. Same for the unit I installed on my router table (two routers). great system definitely worth the money. Had 1 tool sensor act up. Dave from Ivac helped troubleshoot the problem. The next day I had a email with return procedures and numbers. The replacement was shipped before my unit got to them. All is OK again - great company to work with!!!! ... show more

  • Automate your dust collection
I had the older version of this device on some of my shop tools and this is an improvement over those. With the older version you needed separate devices for 240V and 120V tools. Plus you had to mount the box somewhere near the tool so if you move the tool you might have to relocate the box as well. Easy installation on the power cord but you need a 120V receptacle nearby to connect the USB adapter. Great addition to the dust collection system to enable automatic startup when the tool is turned on. ... show more
