At this stage, they're too little to manipulate toys by grasping, and even if they do manage to grab ahold of something, they lose it within a few seconds. This is the only toy I've ever found that actually occupied my kid at this stage for longer than a couple minutes. At first I thought the mitt was too small, because her hand didn't fit in it flat, like a mitten. But then I realized that if her hand was balled up in a fist, it fits perfectly and then the velcro strap actually works to keep it on. This is the perfect thickness & material to go over the baby’s hand, and as a bonus also has the crinkle paper for those babies that love different textures and noise!
