It does deflate so you have to add air but it holds overnight . I am actually surprised how comfortable it is wish I got a bigger one because i forgot how small a twin is. It is a bit wobbly so bigger is better. Would buy again absolutely.

I needed a decent queen sized mattress for tent camping and this fit that need quite well without breaking the bank. It's not as fancy as some other mattresses costing much more but to me an air mattress is an air mattress, in that they aren't the most comfortable things in the world but this one I was able to sleep well on. It took me a minute to figure out that you turn the pump cylinder to switch it off and on and between inflate and deflate but once I got that down it was easy. I did not experience any loss of air over the weekend camping trip. The mattress seems durable yet folds up easily and more compact than you'd expect.
