  • Well worth the money
We bought this pool in May 2019, this is our 6th year having it. This may be our last summer with it as it has some leaks that my husband flex sealed and a couple of the legs are broke. It has been well worth the money and I would definitely buy this again. Super easy to set up and take down. We stored it in a heavy duty storage drum. My husband is super meticulous in cleaning it before putting away and making sure it was dry. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • First pool, worth it.
Easy to set up. Just make sure your ground is as close to perfectly level as possible. I was 5" low on one side, which I didn't think was a big deal, until I filled it. It had a good lean to it and I couldn't fill it all the way. Thankfully it was easy to take down as well. Got the ground to within 2" of level and now the pool is great. The pump doesn't quite keep up, but I have a large tree hanging partially over it. I had no other place to put it. If it weren't for the extra debris from the tree, it would be great. These are both user issues, not product issues. Maybe someone can learn from my mistakes as a first time pool owner. ... show more

  • Best Total Package for the Price
Like another poster, my parcel arrived in a completely annihilated box. My husband and I, along with the delivery man took our time going through each item to make sure it was intact. We ultimately decided to set it up and see if it would hold water rather than go another month + waiting on a replacement. Luckily, several days later, it seems to be okay. Set-up was a breeze! My ten year old son and I were able to assemble the frame and bladder in a couple hours, begin filling it, and smooth the wrinkles on the floor. The next day, I set up the filter/pump. It is very easy to do solo. So far, there are no leaks, air or water, which I had experienced with our previous Summer Escapes pool/Intex pump setup. They really make it a pain to use any two brands work with each other. All the hoses and fittings are always different sizes. That's why this time I opted for the all-in-one. Note that pool sand is much more difficult to find at a big box store these days, as more and more people are switching to a saltwater setup. Your local pool supply store should carry it, however, and you're looking at buying a 50 lb. bag for $10-$12. I also purchased a standard vacuum and hose, which does not fit any of the hoses that came with this pool, so I'm currently looking for a coupling of some sort. Don't bother with the type that attaches to a garden hose. Trust me. You'll be wasting a ton of water and the sediment will flow right through the mesh bag. Invest in a weighted vacuum head. Overall, I am super happy with this purchase. It seems to be much better quality than the Summer Escapes brand that survived three years and three hundred patches before I couldn't even detect where the holes were anymore and it no longer held water. Also, I agree with whomever posted that the ladder is crap. I'm 5'3, 115, and my shoulders don't even fit through the handles to sit on the top of it. It twists and shakes under even my forty pound daughter's weight. ... show more

  • Been 2 weeks, so far so good
So far so good. Make sure area is level! I made a water level with 25ft of vinyl tubing filled it with water. Lay it on the ground with the ends sticking up and where the water sits on each end of the tubing is level, measure from there to the ground and both ends should be the same. Unpack everything and read all instructions before starting as some info for one thing may be specified better somewhere else. I did it by myself with no problems but of course would be easier with 2 people. Get the wrinkles out of the liner with only a couple inches of water in pool. Make sure legs are straight and level before filling all the way, you can still move them at half full with some effort. BUY THE INTEX SKIMMER! WELL WORTH THE $35. Buy the vacuum/brush kit. Before installing control head on filter remove and throw away the white screen underneath held on by 2 Phillips screws. If your backwash flow isn't very good look inside the backwash outlet. Is there a 1/2" hole in there even though the connection is for a huge hose? I drilled this out to 1" on mine and now it works great but you can always start with 3/4". Just to not drill through the plastic in back of the hole or you will ruin the head. In instructions it says "optional" on the step for putting baby powder on the rail. Do this anyway as it will help the liner slide into position as you fill it. ... show more

  • No Rust Protection
The pool was easy to set up...but rust appeared on the top beams and at the bottom of the support beams the 1st season! This season (2nd) 3 support beams have rusted out (at the bottom where it enters the support boot) and the pool is going to collapse! Intex accepts no responsibility for the poor quality of its product. My son bought an Intex pool last year also and it is rusting too. I've found many reports on the web where others are having the same problem, and found a site belonging to a law firm planning a class-action law suit against Intex. This is our 3rd Intex pool, starting with a blow-up rim that we used for 5 years. Then we had a 16" ultra pool for 6 years before getting this 18" pool which has not lasted 2 summers! I would not recommend Intex to anyone. They are dangerous because you may not notice how badly rusted the supports have become because it is occurring at the bottom where they fit into a black plastic base. ... show more
