Frequently asked questions

The Aquarian Phoenix Pool Kit comes with a 24-foot by 52-inch steel frame above ground pool, a pump and ladder, a sand filter, a pool liner, a skimmer, and various cleaning accessories such as pool brushes and a vacuum.

You'll need a level area slightly larger than 24 feet in diameter to accommodate the pool. Ensure you have enough space around the pool for safe movement and maintenance.

While the pool is designed for DIY installation, it is recommended to have at least 2-3 people to help with the setup process. Follow the manufacturer’s manual closely for the best results and for safety considerations.

Typically, the sand in the filter should be changed every 3-5 years. However, this can vary based on pool usage and maintenance routines. Always monitor your pool water clarity and filter pressure gauge to determine if it needs to be changed sooner.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Customer sentiment on this pool is mixed, with particular praise for its quality and value for money from satisfied customers, while others found installation and durability to be problematic. While many commend the pool's robust build once properly installed, the flimsy walls and poor instruction manual presented assembly challenges for several reviewers. Issues with the included ladder and pool filter were also noted, though the pump generally received positive feedback.

Pros

  • 👍 Comparable in quality to higher-priced pools
  • 👍 Cost-effective for the size and durability
  • 👍 Solid performance of pump and sand filter system
  • 👍 Pool aesthetics are frequently complimented
  • 👍 Positive feedback for heavy-duty materials used

Cons

  • 👎 Installation can be complex and challenging
  • 👎 Instruction manual vague and inadequate
  • 👎 Some components like the ladder and liner are of inferior quality
  • 👎 Several instances of the pool arriving with holes or damaged parts
  • 👎 Flimsy structure reported before the pool is filled with water

Should I Buy It?

Considering the positive remarks on its overall quality and savings, the pool seems like a good investment if you are prepared for a rigorous installation process or willing to hire professionals. However, if ease of installation and immediate usage are priorities, you might want to consider other options. Be ready to purchase additional components such as a sturdy ladder or a higher-quality liner to ensure the pool’s longevity and safety.

  • Great quality pool.
Size: 15' Style: Phoenix
I had the pool professionally installed, but finding an installer to do it was a challenge, as they have contracts with pool places. The installer stated he was surprised where I bought the pool & it’s great quality. It’s just as good as the pool places selling 6,000.00 pools for a fraction of the cost. I ordered pool sand for underneath from my local landscaping place & paid to have it delivered too. Look up how much you’ll need online for the specs of your pool. Purchase sand for the filter, because it doesn’t come with it. I also purchased separately cushions for the bottom corners. As a previous pool owner for 14 years, I was familiar with the process. There’s no point in investing your money to not install it properly & expect it to last or give it a bad review. The liner wasn’t a bad one, but after reading reviews before buying, I didn’t want to risk finding out if it was good or not on the day of installation. I bought a heavy gauge one with a pattern instead. The ladder isn’t sturdy, it’s not child proof & a hassle to assemble. I will be buying a better one this summer, but it was useable. Use caution with the ladder is my advice. The filter was big enough to keep my pool clean & I had to buy a hose for vacuuming, the pool package came with attachment to go over the basket hole though. i also use a solar cover & swear by it. It keeps my pool clean, does heat it up & keeps the heat in at night & reduces chlorine from being drained from the sun. The solar covers only last for me for about two years but are we’ll worth it I feel. The caps are a hard resin, but from what I seen at pool places this is the new product. They are sturdy & nothing to be concerned about, as many name brand pool manufacturers are utilizing this resin now. I know many have installed the pool themselves, but they also haven’t done so properly from what I read. If you do it on your own plan on a big project & do it right. Dig down, use sand, go the right route & this pool will last. I’m extremely satisfied and saved more than half the money I would’ve if I went to a pool place. ... show more

  • Advise not buying this pool!
Size: 21' Style: Phoenix
Really wanted to return this. The size and cumbersome nature of shipping it back made us keep it. If the return process would have been easier, I would have returned it. The quality was very poor. It was nearly impossible to assemble. The walls are so flimsy and the track that the wall sits in so narrow and weak that it bent as we try to put the wall into the track. Every step was difficult, due to the poor quality of the materials and the instruction manual writing. The materials are so flimsy. I bought this to last 20 years and figured I could replace the liner periodically. I bought it instead of a typical doughboy even though it was really expensive, because I believed that the steel frame pool would be higher quality. This is not worth the money. The instruction manual was so vague. It was like they wrote the manual and then cut out 40% of the instructions. When we finally got to the liner, it already had a hole in it. It is so thin. I don't anticipate it will last longer than a year. $2,400 for something that doesn't last longer than a year is a scam. It really should be pulled from the market. And they need a new technical writer to write the manual. ... show more

  • Nice pool but incredibly hard to setup
Size: 21' Style: Phoenix
This is a nice pool once you get it setup but be warned the setup is not for the faint of heart. Rolling out the extremely heavy steel wall and getting it into the narrow tracks without sand getting in them is quite a battle. Did it with just two people and it was brutal. Also the pump hoses and fittings are a bit suspect quality. Replaced them with better quality ones to prevent all the leaks and drips. Oh and the ladder is a bit wonky. That said, once it was up and running I would recommend it. Just be sure to have lots of helpers and lots of patience. ... show more

  • Great pool
Size: 21' Style: Phoenix
I have always wanted a pool, and when we found this, on sale, we jumped on it. It’s been 3 years since we bought it. It still has the original liner and is still going strong. We installed it ourselves. My husband, myself and 2 of our grown sons. We leveled the area, used sand, and a pad, and those styrofoam pads that go along the bottom edges, then we covered it with the liner. Makes sure you properly place the skimmer hole where you want your pump to sit. We set ours up, then realized it was in the wrong spot😩. Putting it up is a serious test in patience. The track is tiny and the wall is super heavy. It’s like putting up a tent with your spouse, but on steroids. There were definitely some angry words spoken, and frustration, but we managed! The biggest tip I can share is to completely level the ground inside the pool too!! We made sure all the legs were level, but we were hot and exhausted and decided the floor area of the pool was smooth enough. It’s now hard to vacuum bc of some small uneven areas that make some divets that the sediment likes to settle into, and a few wrinkles from not making sure the liner was completely smooth. Our family and extended family, have really enjoyed it! ... show more

  • Wouldn't buy again
Size: 18' Style: Phoenix
This is the second pool we have had and are in our third year with this particular pool. It went together fairly easily. My husband is a general construction contractor, which was helpful for installing the pool. Within thte first year we realized the pool filter was way too small so we invested in a larger filter. Early in the second year, we started getting holes in the liner. We patched them and it worked okay. Now, in our third year, we have to replace the liner already as it is wrinkling all over the bottom and sides, which causes many holes. It is beyond repair. The frame itself is decent. In the end we've put considerably more money into this pool than we intended. ... show more

We love the pool it’s definitely great quality, only thing I will say is you will need to hire someone to install it, I’m extremely handy myself but this take a professional to install and is very complex. Highly recommend the pool, and the pump and sand filter work great.
