  • Learn to use it and it’s not bad

Great product if people could hook them up properly. I’ve seen so many complaints but zero pieces of advice and tech supports not a huge help. So here’s my install guide. FIRST setting the cluster up. So disassemble the cluster in a clean or semi clean location and then take out the mechanical part and the cluster face plate and cut off the dummy light sections and double sided tape it around the new cluster face. Remove the illumination lights from the back. (If it’s not part of the dummy lights remove it) also remove check gauges dummy light bulb mine came on maybe i messed something up but i just pulled it. Also make sure battery light works also or alternator won’t charge. Now cut a hole in the back and run the wires and put connectors and wire loom on them and connect the wires as you seem fit as a good connection. SECOND is necessary tools, wire cutters, strips, crimps and a small heat torch, now the other things are THE GPS UNIT (much easier, if you wanna be cheap then you’re on your own) wire mesh loom, Tessa tape, electrical tape, couple feet of 18awg wire, loop connectors, dorman water proof plug connectors, or whatever brand type plug connector you want, also going to have to go to autozone get a temp sensor for the side of the block then take that to ace and get a screw fitting that goes from the old style temp sensor to the new one because the one they give you is wrong also get a nut and washer because they done give you one either, now return the temp sensor. Now for hooking it up, these trucks are simple, use a basic google wire diagram, hook up to the wires on the truck to the cluster from the paper they supply to the basic wire diagram super simple, now for power and ground, run 18 awg wire from back of block on driver side and then for power just run the power for cluster off the cluster fused side in the dash and it works perfect, for the gps unit use an unused fuse holder main power wire and put a 5v inline fuse on it and then just hook the gps unit to the white wire and throw it behind the light switch in the left it fits perfect and then the button for it can go into the fuse box on the left and gps antenna fits inside top of dash perfect and unseen it’s all too perfect. Now for the wiring on the cluster just dremel a whole next to the cluster main connector and run the wires you need from the plug to your cluster and put connectors on it all to be safe, tuck it into the space between the bar (makes sense while doing it) then the odo reset button can be ran and screwed to a hole next to a nut on the dash bar under the dash (obviously) and it’s a perfect mount hole. Now you’re all set up on the inside. Outsides not bad either just put the fitting you got from ace on the block and screw in the new fitting (MAKE SURE ITS TIGHT) and nothing needs pipe tape for this atleast mine didn’t, and just hook the wires up for that as usual. Super easy, then for oil sensor, unscrew everything for the old one including the angled fitting. Now put a lil pipe tape on that and screw that pos so tight it breaks with a set of pliers that’s the only way it won’t leak. And then run that ground to the same location as the cluster and then hook it to the brown wire if it’s a 98 obs idk what i was confused on that for. If it doesn’t start you might have blown the pcm fuse also lol. Jaden_ws ... show more
