    • A great solution for Ubuntu 20.04 wireless connection issues.
Got this for my Acer A515-43-R19L Ryzen 3 laptop. I dual boot Ubuntu 20.04 Linux and Windows 10 on separate internal SSDs, and was getting a lot of drops when using Ubuntu. However, on Win10 it worked great. My online queries led me to believe it was something to do with the OEM Atheros WiFi card not playing nice with Linux. Those same queries told me that the Intel drivers included in 20.04 were generally sound, and I thought I’d update from AC to the faster AX standard while I was at it, hence this purchase. Unlike some of the others here, I had no problem with what was sent me. I got the pictured box with antennae and leads included, even though I only needed/used the AX200 card. That said, while it immediately solved my Linux issues, I couldn’t initially connect with my mesh system on the Win10 side. I tried letting Windows Update ferret out better drivers, without success. I even downloaded the latest Win10 drivers direct from Intel. Still no luck. I finally went to Acer and downloaded the latest Intel WiFi drivers specifically for my laptop there, and voila, instant connection! In retrospect, the laptop manufacturer should have been my first stop for updated drivers. Interestingly enough, I had no such issues on the Bluetooth side, as Bluetooth worked fine right out of the box with both Ubuntu 20.04 and Win10. I gave this 5 stars because, once you have the right Win10 WiFi drivers installed, it’s a clean and fast WiFi solution. And, on the Ubuntu side, it worked great from the get go. I bought this card to replace a realtek 8852ae in my Lenovo Legion 5 15ach6. I was disappointed in the wireless issues like the wifi dropping repeatedly, download speeds terrible compared to phones and tablets right next to it that had 10-100x the upload/download. I pretty much put all those model numbers in for searching purposes, if you have that realtek card, this is the perfect replacement for it. The inclusion of the old card is likely just a symptom of the manufacturing of the laptop during a time of global chip shortage. Excellent, easy, cost-effective replacement for upgrading a laptop that needed it. It comes as a desktop kit, with the case coverguard and external antennas, but I am typing this review from the laptop that just got it. ... show more

    • Works good, but cables are looooong
As a wifi card, this works just fine. But be aware that the wires between the card itself and the antenna connectors are LONG. If you plan on installing this into a desktop motherboard with the rear-io, just be aware that you'll need to cram a foot of extra wire somewhere as well. Mine arrived in normal sealed retail packaging, so I didn't have the experience some of the other reviewers did of loose items in a blank box. Maybe just make sure you buy one sold by amazon? ... show more

    • Tiny Card, Big Speed
I recently upgrading my wireless network to 802.11AX. In order to maximize the benefit, I got this to plug into an Asus Z270i Strix board, which out of the box features a so-so Qualcomm 802.11AC + BT card. Got this one, which is a model without Intel's vPro management kit, because my CPU (7000 series Core i7) doesn't even have vPro and I wouldn't need it as a home user regardless. The item arrived in an envelope next day, within it was a cardboard box and within that was a plastic shell that appears to be the same type Intel uses to pack their CPU's for shipment, and within that is the card itself. The shell was wrapped in tape that tells you the contents are sensitive to static electricity. The card was Intel branded and looks pretty much just like the seller's photo above. Before unwrapping my new little toy, I downloaded the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers from Intel's site. Plug "AX200 drivers" and the first result is what you need. The install involving popping out the motherboard, removing 4 tiny screws, 2 even tinier RF antenna connectors on the old card, then putting it all back together. About 20 minutes all in, and I've never even done this exact operation before. I booted up and Win10 immediately recognized the card and applied basic MS drivers for WiFi and BT. It then connected to my wireless network, so if you forgot to download the drivers, you're still (probably) okay. I installed the Intel drivers, removed the old MS and Qualcomm drivers, rebooted the machine and ran a speed test: The results: 400mbps down. Given that this PC isn't in the same floor as my access point, this is about what I was expecting and significantly more than the AC card it replaced. TL;DR: Buy it, especially if you're a home user are upgrading older Intel equipment. ... show more
