I use this machine for everything. It makes the quickest most tender bbq pulled chicken. The fastest hard boiled eggs. The most thick collagen filled bone broth with amazing flavor! Each button is easy to understand, this product so so user friendly. Soon I'll be attempting to make my own yogurt in it. I originally was going to save up and get an All American Pressure Cooker but $400 is a little too much to splurge on a pressure cooker. This product is a great start for dipping your feet in homesteading/canning. If you follow all the instructions it's the safest machine... this coming from the most accident prone human. This is the 3rd instant pot that I've bought here, but I think although longer term it doesn't seem to last more than a few years, the quality of the item has been improved and new features are very much appreciated. Like the handles are well done, and the other improvements such as cover for steam vent to disperse the steam when cooking is done and cooking speed from when the start button is pressed to the actual cooking start seems to be faster. The new lid on the pot has a little area where something can be kept warm, (I'm guessing) I haven't checked out the function of this feature yet, but I will. I didn't get all the fuss over the Instant Pot...but I understand now. It's wonderful. I've never had one, but this one does all I could hope. I use it the pressure cooking feature, of course, and have not been disappointed. My favorite thing is that it makes my yogurt. I heat the milk to 180 for 30 minutes using the sous vide feature. Once it cools to 115, I add my starter and use the yogurt setting. I had a yogurt maker before, but this is better as far as convenience and I can make larger batches. I love it! ... show more

I absolutely would recommend this Instantpot. I never liked my older model because of the lack of "information" while using it. This shows the heating, cooking, nd keep warm cycle.It also automatically shuts the release button. It is just easier to use from the electronic display to the handles on the cooking pot. I would highly recommend this pot to anyone interested in an Instantpot. Hard boiled eggs are soooo easy to peel too;-) ... show more

    • Now, I can get rid of two older IPs that still work like new.

I had the original 6qt Duo, and the 10qt. The 10 is huge, but not good for pressure cooking. It takes more power than it can deliver to heat ingredients enough to pressure cook. So, it slow cooks for a long time before coming to pressure. So, it's great for making mush. The 6qt has the original vent, which takes a very long time and makes a big mess. But it's still the one we use the most. Now I have this, and am looking to give away the other two. This is the perfected design. It's 1400W (not 1200W as shown in one of the graphics). The vent is large and easy to access without getting burned. I can't suggest any improvements at all to the pot. I wish the trivet were at least 1" tall, then I could steam eggs without them getting into the hot water. But you can buy (and I have) trivets that work better. The saute function works MUCH better than either of the other IPs. ... show more
