Ive used the doux, ive used design, this has a harder hold that I enjoy. My curls look amazingggggg for a function. Hair will not be soft, loads of volume but wouldnt say you get longevity for 4c styles with this mousse. But that is the nature of mousse.

I am so impressed with this! I have fine 2A hair and am experimenting with various products. My hair is easily weighed down so I wanted to try a foam. Other foams I have tried offer very little in terms of hold, but that’s not the case here! The foam forms a strong cast when I diffuse or air dry and I can easily scrunch it out.     • Perfect for Curlies - Great Definition and Hold

I have Type 3 curls (if you know the curl types) - basically ringlets and/or S shaped curls depending on how much product and effort I put in. I have a tendency towards frizz even on a good wash day. I’ve used Curl Smith, AG Care, TreLuxe, and Curl Keeper products in the past. I’ve been interested in Innersense but never got around to trying them. After my hair dresser used a similar product and I saw some ads on Instagram, I figured I’d give it a whirl. This stuff is a game changer for me. To me it’s a mouse/gel. It creates great definition and hold. And the least amount of frizz I’ve ever had. A little goes a long way and it’s now replaced TreLuxe’s Hi-Definition Gel in my arsenal. Day 2 and 3 curls don’t usually stretch out like they do with the Hi-Definition. Refreshes are easy, I just use water, I don’t have to add more product if I don’t want to. There is definitely crunch you will have to scrunch and if you don’t like that then I don’t recommend this product for you. This stuff is tricky! When they say 1-2 pumps, they're not kidding (which is crazy when you're used to using giant handfuls of product). I use one pump of this (seriously!) as a "top coat" over the Innersense "I create lift" volume foam and it really does help to add some serious definition. If I use MORE than one pump, this stuff gets EXCEPTIONALLY FILMY. Leaves a slightly sticky, slightly greasy, slightly stringy feeling on my hair. Still working out the perfect proportions to get the best results, but it's promising. Definitely a unique formula, certainly does what it says. I find it works best if you treat it almost like a curl cream and emulsify it in your hands before lightly scrunching it into wet hair. Might try mixing it with a little additional water for better distribution. It DOES seem to make hair dry a little more slowly. It's GOOD, but it's UNUSUAL and definitely has a learning curve I wasn't expecting. For reference: 3b-ish very fine, fairly thin, chin-length hair. ... show more

I really wanted to like this product. Many other mousses I’ve used have a really strong scent, so I was looking for something that was unscented or lightly scented, had cleaner ingredients, and would provide definition/hold for my type 4 curls. I used this for a braid out. While this product had the mild scent I was looking for (light lemony smell) and held my edges down well, I would not say that it provided great definition. Additionally, this product was quite drying, sticky, and left my hair feeling very straw-like and delicate. I did not like the way my hair (or hands) felt while using this product or after it dried. I attempted to crunch it out the next day, but was unsuccessful. I actually had to wet it to get it feeling somewhat normal, but there are still sections that are very hard days later. I did not have any issues with flaking, which is a positive. I will follow other reviewer recommendations and see if using less product works better. Overall, I’m not a fan right now. ... show more

    • My hair felt like straw

I have 3A hair that's a mix of coarse in the back and fine in the front. I'm looking for definition that will last a couple days and doesn't feel weird like plastic or sticky like glue. I did achieve strong definition, but at what cost? It felt like I put Elmer's glue in my hair. It was so stiff and felt horribly dry. Like a straw broom. I couldn't scrunch it out. My hair made my hands feel sticky if I touched it. After a day, it started to flake really bad. Everything I moved near had a light dusting of flakes hair product all over it. I am surprised this stuff sells at all and especially at the price charged for it. I didn't even take a picture. I washed it out as soon as I had time and will likely trash the rest.
