  • Very easy to use and very forgiving!
Color: 16 OZ Size: Medium
Great product and so easy to use! Allows room for error, ha. I measured very carefully as I know how critical the right ratio is. I don’t think I stirred long enough though, yet the final product looked great! Within 12 hours I was able to demold, and it felt fully solid after maybe 36 hours. Product wasn’t too thick though, so unsure if it would work well without a mold. Would for sure recommend. ... show more

  • Good quality, reliable resin
Color: 32 OZ Size: Large
I have ordered and used about a dozen of these so far, and it is the only resin I use for casting. It mixes and sets up reliably. You'll have the usual air bubble issues that any resin will give you, so take the usual precautions and counter measures. All of my failures with this resin were failures on my part -- once I was in a hurry and did not mix it well enough, and once I measured way wrong and ended up with too much "A" in it. Other than those two times, it has always set up very well and clear, giving me some nice pieces. It handles color and inclusions perfectly. I think you will be very satisfied with this resin. My one and only complaint is with the quality of the packaging. My first order arrived with the seal broken on one of the bottles and resin all over the inside of the shipping box. The outer shipping box was so saturated with resin hardener that I am surprised that the shipping company delivered it. It was impossible to return the mess at that point, so I just ate the loss, which was the most frustrating part of the experience. My most recent order came with the product box broken open and all the contents floating around inside the shipping box with other items from the order. If they could fix the packaging issues, this would easily and without any hesitation be a five-star product. I like that the product includes measuring cups and wooden stirring sticks. I have bulk packages of both of these, but it's still a nice bonus and I always use them first. The measuring cups are actually very nice and good quality themselves. The included gloves are very small. They might fit a child or a very small adult, but not an average person. I just toss them. Overall, this is an excellent product. It just has some packaging issues to be worked out. The resin itself is top quality. ... show more

  • Not alcohol ink!
If you are new like me, resin pigment is not the same as alcohol ink and you cannot do Petri dish techniques with it.

  • Partial Fail for sealing/capping off Wedding Unity Sand Art
Color: 16 OZ Size: Medium
This is not my first experience with 2 part epoxies or resins. I purchased this particular resin after researching how-to's for sealing wedding ceremony unity sand art on various craft sites, and selected this product based on others' reviews of success in doing the same or similar, and was looking specifically for top product review based on "clarity" once cured. I'm rating this product a 3 because I have no doubt the product will perform well in certain applications and it did perform well in my initial test, but I'm simply not pleased with how this resin cured when scaled up in my final project. Our actual unity piece is from our wedding almost 12 yrs ago, representing the blending of my wife and I in beige, my 3 children from previous marriage in their favorite colors of pink purple and blue, and our faith as the foundation in white. It has always sat on our mantle since the ceremony with a small lid, but was never filled to the top to prevent mixing or spillage....so we were counting blessings while also tempting fate, and looking to finally protect this priceless piece of memorabilia for our family. Prior to applying the product to the unity art, we tested using a smaller jar with sand and the results turned out great, the product was crystal clear. So, we proceeded with scaling up the mixed batch to a little more than we calculated we would need for the unity art, to ensure a single smooth pour. The product came with two small measuring cups, equivalent to what you would receive with a bottle of children's cough medicine. Since scaling up would require about 2/3 of each bottle = 10+ of those cups for each substrate AND each substrate had different viscosities, I was concerned about the compounding effect over 10+medicine cups of one substrate not completely emptying from the cup when poured/refilled vs the other substrate, so I opted instead to use separate 60ml syringes to ensure equal amounts were drawn and plunged from the syringes for each substrate to the nth degree; this still took awhile given the size of syringes I had on hand to work with, but provided greater accuracy in the absence of a digital scale (I use the same syringes not for measuring liquids per se, but for applying wood glue in my shop for smaller project parts/pieces to give you an idea of what I'm working with). Once we had equal parts in the container, I slowly stirred the product, taking care to not introduce air bubbles while consolidating the substrates. Once we had a great consistency and could no longer see any streaks between the 2 materials in our mix, we then proceeded to slowly pour the resin into the unity art. During both the test and the final pour, the resin took on a light amber hue when first poured until cured, and any small bubbles that may have been present in the product (despite how much care we took) did in fact clear out and rise to the surface within minutes of pouring. What happened in the next 45 minutes in our unity art was disappointingly much different than our test piece, as we watched larger bubbles about half the size of a dime, slowly surface through the sand layers and through the surface of the resin at a pace of 1 per 8-10seconds;;the bubbles began to slow after about 20minutes, and stopped completely after about 30minutes. As this occurred, we also noticed the resin soaking into the top layer of sand by about 1/4", though it was hardly noticeable at that point in time unless you were close to the jar (fingers crossed!); there also were no bubbles in the resin, and it appeared it would cure clear just as it did in our test. After watching and checking on it for a couple hours with no further appearance of bubbles, we left the unity art to sit overnight for about 10 hours to continue curing. When we checked a few moments ago, it is clearer than first poured but not completely clear in comparison to the test we performed; the surface has completely cured hard so far. I'm hopeful that the remaining amber hue is possibly result of the interior still curing due to the volume of product we needed to cap off the container. The most disappointing part depicted in the pictures with this review, is that: 1) the resin continued soaking into the top sand layer to about 3/4" and then somehow shrunk while curing, leaving a small gap between the saturated and unsaturated parts of the beige sand layer (puzzling though, the top didn't settle and the resin remains level at the top of the jar) 2) an "air bloom" developed within the center resin layer?!?! I have so many questions now since 1) my test piece turned out great and 2) there was no air present in the resin layer of the unity art at the 2hr mark after pouring. How, why, when and what caused the air bloom to form? Why after the sand had 12 yrs to naturally compact and settle, was there enough air to surface and form the air bloom or to allow the resin to penetrate so deeply into the sand? How is it that after pouring the resin to the rim and the saturated sand layer shrunk, that it created a gap in the middle of the sand when in fact the resin still rests at the rim of the glass container after curing? Were all these issues related to the volume of resin used? At any rate...I think if I were to do this again, I would have first tried pouring a small layer of melted wax to seal the sand first, trapping any residual air pockets between the sand grains underneath....then once the wax has cooled/hardened, pour the resin on top of the wax. I believe this would work in theory, but would encourage someone to test this if looking to try to seal their sand art glass. Best of luck to anyone else attempting to use this product for their unity art or similar application! ... show more

  • I love it!!
Color: 16 OZ Size: Medium
I LOVE THIS BRAND!!! It's fast drying, not tacky, but I wish it was just a bit cheaper for the bigger bottles. Either way it doesn't turn your mold yellow so there's no yellow tint left and it comes off or everything super nice!
