Probably not as good as a broody hen but will be much safer and easier to watch! Currently working on getting things set back up for hens. Moved and having to start over. It came with everything it listed! Foam casing to keep it warm, plastic shell to keep them in, top with warmer and light. While it came with a plug I am kind of interested on how it would hold up attached to a deep cycle battery. But that's not terribly necessary here as we have the space inside. Feels warm and holds the humidity. So we can hope its as effective as a chicken but without out the pecking/rage/poop. ... show more

Egg turner has never worked on mine. As I am incubating eggs, I am not returning it but rather just turn them by hand. Temperature and humidity control works fine
