I just received this and I admit, I made sure there was free returns because I’ve gotten some keypad cases in the past that were very disappointing. This was NOT one of them!!! The Air 5 snaps perfectly into the case with each button accessible. *The keyboard synced up instantly. *The entire case adds very little size/weight to the iPad. *The keyboard magnets hold it securely so there is no flopping. *The pencil holder is secure (but given a choice I’d prefer it on the top where it could charge) *The keys are intuitive to type on and have a nice Positive but quiet click for ease of rapid typing. * The case material feels good and sturdy, with a bit of texture so it doesn’t slip on my lap The iPad shuts off instantly when the case closes. I use this daily while going about daily life as I work from home. It’s important to me to have a keyboard case that doesn’t require lots of adjustments before I can use it. This one is comparable and even exceeds the usability of far more costly cases I have worked with in the past. I would most definitely recommend it to a friend. ***update- I’ ve been using this daily for work and it has not let me down. I opted to create my own Apple Pencil holder to avoid it snagging as I take it in and out of my purse. It was a quick simple fix and holds my pencil securely. It seems to be a 'thing' on IPad cases to have removable keyboards. I am sure that's great for some. But for me the removable keyboard is just one more thing I have to deal with. I was constantly adjusting it or shifting it. I wanted a case with the keyboard built in. That is more convenient for me. I'm a basic sort of guy who uses the IPAD mostly for email, and MS 365 mostly. This keyboard is perfect for my wants. It was simple to connect. My last case with the keyboard built in was a national brand that was about twice as much money. I see no difference at all. That's good! This keyboard has room for an IPAD pencil. I don't have one. It’s lightweight and compact, and offers all the typing needs for my iPad. Keyboard feels very well made and easy for typing. This is exactly what I was looking for: a case + keyboard without a useless tracking pad in a color other than black or grey. Functionality is perfect, quick Bluetooth connection which auto connects when you open the iPad and click it into place. It worked great for about a month, but the Apple pencil holder degraded and became loose. It also only has 1 adjustment for standing up, which is kind of a nuisance, but it still works; the keyboard is satisfying, and I like the texture of the case enough to keep it; I will be keeping my pencil in my charging cord case, though. ... show more

The keyboard Bluetooth started pairing mode but did not show up in the Bluetooth menu for any of my devices. I charged the keyboard for an hour but the power indicator showed a low battery when not plugged into usb.

My iPad Air is a few years old. I use it less now and was considering getting a keyboard for it because I don’t want to have to find my laptop every time I need to be productive. But all of the keyboards are like $100+. I finally decided to buy this one and figured it would be laughably bad. And it’s so much better than I ever would have expected.
