  • Adequate
These work fine for what they are intended to do. I read some reviews that the plugs were difficult to close, I did not have that problem. They are not as thick as my older ones but they are much less expensive. I don't expect them to last more than a season or maybe 2, but for the price I guess that's fair. I used all but one and the ones I used were ok no holes, no problems. The only reason I'm not giving this 4 stars is because I don't think they are very durable. If I'm wrong these are a solid 4 out of 5, but I guess only time will tell. ... show more

  • Decent, no issues
Even though my pool has an anchored safety cover, I find that leaves and mulch get under it and make for a mess in the spring. So I bought enough of these to cover the perimeter of the mesh safety cover and hopefully keep debris out of my pool over the winter. I saw a lot of mixed reviews about these, complaints of leaking water, ripping, closure mechanism/lid not being very secure. I cannot say that I have had any issues with these and am pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend having these already placed in the location you want before filling with water. Maybe that is how people have been ripping them, dragging them around when full of water. The lids seem to work fine for me, shove a hose several inches into the opening, fill completely and then quickly close the lid and make sure it's fully closed. I filled mine up at the end of October, it is now January and none have leaked or had to be refilled, so that's good news. ... show more

  • Good item, but do your prep work first to avoid failure.
Any good tradesman will tell you "Do Your Prep Work". My grandfather always taught me "Measure twice...cut once". That saying is true for carpentry and also for winterizing your pool...IMHO. Here is what I have learned after surviving a winter using these Water Weights: 1: Stretch them out (while empty..duh) in the sunlight for an hour or more before filling them (helps get the shipping wrinkles out and let them stretch...I bet you feel better after stretching once you've been in a car long enough!). 2: The caps fit TIGHT...thats how they hold water in, its not a design flaw. I found that pinching in on both under-sides with one had while pulling the cap's tag with another hand quite adequate to get the cap out. 3. When filling the tubes, fill them about 2/3 of the way full with the cap end raised slightly up in the air. When finished filling each tube, push down and bleed out the excess air so that it is just water in the tube. When the tube freezes, their will be plenty of "stretching room" for the balloons to expand without unwanted air fighting the freezing water for tube material surface area. 4. Now this one I am not sure on, but my 137 year old neighbor (I'm pretty sure he helped invent dirt) told me each spring as I was cleaning my water weights (before putting them a way for the summer) to take a cloth with ArmorAll (or other vinyl protectant...) on it and wipe down the exterior of each tube. After that I just lie them out flat on my driveway while its warm and fold them back up they way they originally came to me. I have heard that rolling them is better as it causes no flat area creases which might be cracking areas later on. I am very happy with purchase. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a low cost/good quality water pool weight. Thank you for ready, hope this helped. GL / HF 11/22/2018 ** The water baffles lasted approximately 2.5 years before splitting/bursting. We were able to use them for the Winter 2014 and 2015 season without any problem. During the Winter 2016 season, many of them burst along the thermal/plastic welds. I still recommend these baffles if you find them at a good price. At this point, we are preparing our pool surface for an in-ground anchored mesh pool cover. ... show more

  • Works well, sturdy, seals shut unquestionably
I had no duds in the pack, and they withstood me pulling them along my decking. Never once did the nozzles break the seal. Will update after the winter to see how many duds happen, if any. Don't fill all the way.

  • Great price, decent product - don’t buy if you have puppies
My two (less than 1 year old) puppies have shredded almost all of these. They pop open the red spout (which others stated are very difficult to close) & jump on the tubes to make a water fountain 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ They’re thinner than my old ones. The ones the puppies left alone have held up pretty well so far (only 2 months at their [puppies] current shred rate). ... show more

  • Customer Service Is As Important As The Product
Pool water tubes are always iffy purchases—I never know how thick or durable they’ll be, and opening/closing caps is usually a challenge. What a surprise these were—I ordered two sets (12 tubes), and every cap was easy to close. We had our pool winterized in no time, and filling these tubes was an easy process. Unfortunately, one tube had a small hole. I contacted the seller, received a response within minutes, and had a replacement tube in my hands within a day or two. Yes, these tubes are what you’d expect in quality (I’ve never been wowed by any pool water tube) but the good price and excellent customer service warrants a five star rating. ... show more

  • GOOD BLUE DOUBLE TUBES
All arrived in good condition and no defects. Our pool closers installed these double blue bags to hold our leaf net which sits on the winter pool cover. The winter pool cover has the thicker black double tubes. Tubes last longer if not overfilled so when it is freezing outside, the tubes don't rip. After the massive leaf drop that occurs here, and before the 1st serious snowfall, we will be removing the leaf net and its tubes (according to leaf net mfr's instructions). I wouldn't hesitate to use the blue ones for the pool cover, however. ... show more

Just purchase a vinyl patch kit with these because you will have to fix a leak or two. One had a pin sized hole on one of the seams and another got torn where the cap attaches to the tubes, there's a design flaw here where by if you use the caps to hold onto the tubes, the stress will tear the tube so don't pull on the caps at all. Besides that, I expect them to work for one season ... show more
