The media could not be loaded. I bought this to replace a different brand that I bought on Amazon and it only lasted a little over a year. The IKTCH Wall Mount Range Hood 30 inch Gesture Sensing & Touch Control Switch Panel Kitchen Vent Hood is the best I have owned or seen in stores. It is very well packaged and arrived on time and without any damage. It is so easy to install and when installed is solid. The brackets keep it tight and nothing rattles. I like the width of the exhaust vent, it is wider than what I had and looks so much better. You have the ability to make this as high as you want as it's two pieces that slide into each other. These have a channel so they do not rattle and it stays solid. Also it is thicker than what I previously had and cleans up nicely. This has a standard 3 prong plug so you just need an outlet. Once installed, it is so easy to use and so far is working perfectly for me. If you want to turn the light on and start the fan on low speed, you swipe your hand from left to right. Remember you need to swipe past both sensors for it to work, as you can see in my video. Then swiping again to get to the different speeds. The fan is powerful but not too loud which I like. Plus it has a timer that starts at 3 minutes and can go up to 15 minutes. Having the motion sensors are nice because of your hands are dirty or greasy, you wont get the control panel dirty. The lights are very bright, again you can see in my video how they light up the whole stove area and even parts of my countertop. It has comes with a remote control which I had no issues with. There is a charcoal grill cover for the motor which helps with eliminating odors when the fan is on. I like this since I didn't vent it directly out. You do have that choice and they also include the hose and accessories you would need for a direct vent. I didn't get that with the other brand, so this is a plus also. The stainless steel baffle grease grills are solid and so easy to remove, wash and put back in. You just need to put them into your dishwasher. The other thing I really like is the warranty. My other hood had a one year warranty. The iKTCH has a 10 year warranty on the motor and a 5 year warranty on the control panel and lights. That to me is a huge selling point and shows the quality of the unit. I made the video so you could see how it looks installed, how solid and well made it is and how well it works. The kitchen hood is good quality for the price. It is certainly not a Viking or Thermador, but it’s 1/4 the price. For the money it does the job and looks good. The light isn’t very bright I am looking to see if the bulb can be changed.

I went with this as I think it looks really nice and it does in our newly remodeled kitchen. It was super easy to install, especially in a ventless setting. Tonight was the first time I was able to sear a steak on the stove top without setting of the smoke alarm. I had the strength at 2 (of 4) and it did a great job at silencing my very sensitive Nest smoke alarm. I can't wait to push the limits. Like others mentioned, the waving function to control the fan is quite sensitive, however, ever since installing it, I have not had any false alarms. While I was installing it, though, it was pretty much constant and had me very concerned. I'm glad I did not disable it before even trying it out. One thing to note is to make sure you plug it in and test the fan before putting it on the wall. Sometimes the fan may get stuck - you will want to look at that before finishing the install. Support was great. I had a small issue that they resolved graciously and expeditiously. The fan is a bit louder than I expected, but it is not offensive. I haven't really had it to full speed, so that has helped with the noise. Overall, I highly recommend this if you are looking for a stylish and well functioning range hood exhaust fan. ... show more

Looks nice but turns on when I walk by or cook on the stovetop. It is so annoying. I think I am going to cover the motion sensor with electrical tape. I regret this purchase and wish I would have listened to the reviews. I agree the light is not very bright. Seems to work good otherwise.

    • Too loud and too much vibration from fan

I purchased this kitchen hood based on good reviews on Amazon and my experience has been terrible. The first iKtch hood delivered had obviously been returned to Amazon by a previous customer and the fan had so much vibration, it shook the hood and the adjacent cabinets. I called Amazon customer support and they promptly shipped another unit. This one was also a customer return that had been repackaged. The white protective plastic film had been removed in places on both units Amazon shipped to me. The second unit vibrated less than the first but it still was not vibration free. When the glassware in an adjacent cabinet is rattling, I think it is safe to say the fan vibrates too much. It is also much louder than the description on Amazon leads you to believe. Adding insult to injury, I have paid a handyman over $900 in labor to install and remove two units. These products have been a enormous waste of time and money in my kitchen renovation.
