  • one of those "why I didn't buy it earlier" things!
Very cool thing to have. Grill isn't big and neither heat output is big but it is very small and portable (ammo can size) in size and adds so so much to your camping experience, we grill sausages, we heat ourselves and/or just watch the fire. I would buy it again and I don't need a bigger size - works perfect for my needs. very high quality build. update: i'm using 1lb propane tank - I now question myself maybe its the 1lb tank not powerful enough to provide gas needed for max heat. ... show more

  • need more heat?
be sure and get the rocks. They will generate more heat. no more chasing wet fire wood or busting your fingers trying to break wood. In a rain storm this thing was priceless. Getting up on a cool morning, priceless. Havent used the grill yet but theres no reason its not super duper too.

  • Pretty neat
Works good but arrived with a rivet fallen out of the latch for the top so it hand off and isn’t secure.

  • Expensive, burns food to a crisp, major issues
1. 20 dollar product sold for 200 -300 is Highway robbery. 2. The Regulator works ok for "campfire" mode but doesn't go low enough to not burn food. I'm talking 10 inch flames coming off your food because it creates a cascading effect, too high of flame on "low" starts meat on fire. Then the juices and fat really get going !! And you end up with an inferno, that keeps going even after shutting off the propane. 3. The Regulator ices up after a while in campfire mode and the flame goes lower. 4. The metal warps if you use it on high for an hour or so and lid won't close properly. 5. It is a non protected stand alone unit that gets glowing red hot. It will burn you, it will burn pets, it will burn children, and melt things. It's not up on long legs like a BBQ, or up at stove height, just sitting in the open on the ground. It's nearly as bad sitting on a table, glowing red hot. Don't put anything near it. 6. It's a novelty thing for summer time Camp "fire" when not allowed to have a real fire. It looks ok in an ad. That's about it. Not something to "use". ... show more

  • Portable and Practical Fire pit/Grill
The oven/stove is about the size of an ammo can, and roughly the same configuration in terms of hinges. When you first open it, the first thing you notice is how well everything is stored. You may want to take a picture of that moment as it will be a bit different after you get all the packing material off of the parts and lay them out. Later you can refer back to those pictures and the instructions when stowing it. The stove/oven can be used in a number of different ways. The fire pit option being the easiest as you will just use the base unit, hook up the propane and fire it up. If you want to grill, just place the tray and you are ready to go; great for meat and vegetables. If you want to use the oven function the inset will house your food and use the heat from the burners to give it a uniform cook. The things that I found interesting was that the gas burner were at least as wide as the standard ones on our full size gas grill (width not length) and they are easy to fine tune. A single heat plate serves to cover them and directs fluid toward the bottom tray where they are funneled into a grease trap. Again all standard features you expect to see, and all done well. The legs are interesting as you will have it up on its legs unless you are storing it, in which case they fold and your stove start looking more like a ammo can and less like a fire pit/stove/grill. In terms of practicality, this fits in the midrange of outdoor activities. While climber stoves, and bug out foldable stove have a smaller footprint when carrying them, this one is designed to be carried in by hand. The fuel source – propane – has to be either a growler or one of the bigger tanks, which takes this closer to the Glamping category in terms of portable stoves. After all, if you have to carry a bigger tank why wouldn’t you simply go to a slim line portable gas grill? Answer, because you can get a growler (smaller portable tank) and not have to haul in all of that stuff. Best uses, staying at a cabin with friends, hanging out in the backyard, and camping where you plan to stay in an area for several days and plan to cook all your meals but want to keep you footprint smaller. After use, clean up is easy, and storage – if you took the pictures – is easy. ... show more

  • It's a tank!
A very solid, homemade device. Throws off more heat than you would think, but keep in mind it is fairly small and wind will have a huge effect on how much heat you feel. Have not yet used it for cooking, and I doubt I will as it'll get very messy. Using it for camping as I needed something way smaller and more portable than my larger fire pit bowl for that scenario. ... show more
