It’s made growing plants so much easier! It’s also very easy to set up and usually a week into sowing the seeds, you will find some kind of growth. I’ve had it for about a year and I’ve already had so many plants grow. It may be difficult to grow smaller seeds and some types I’ve noticed won’t grow at all (like dandelion seeds and it’s harder to grow watermelon but not impossible!). The last picture is a little overgrown because I like to grow them at least to those sizes before I transfer my plants so they have a better chance of survival. Also I recommend the distilled water, because tap or spring might cause calcium to build up in the water space below and it’s hard to scrub off when you clean. I've been growing Toy Choi which grows 8-10 inches high from Parks seeds in this black non wifi vs. 12 pod IDOO since February 2022. Since the unit has plenty of space I can use all pods. It germinated fast and grew wonderfully. When I ran out of nutrients since I have aerogarden nutrients I used them in the IDOO. I supplement all my gardens of different brands with Cal mg and Sea magic from parks. This crop is a heavy feeder and likes it cold so I top fill with cold water to prevent bolting. I've been keeping my crop going harvesting from outside in leaving center 4 leaves. The fan helps towards firm, crunchy taste that is mild and delicious. Of everything I own this unit yields a lot. I get 4-5 cups chopped a week. Yes I decided to measure last few times. Love it so much I got another. My price was $67 so therefore excellent return on investment. Very little labor other than top off water via easy to see little window, feed and harvest. I do a complete water change monthly and super easy and fast. If it goes on sale I may buy a couple more lol. The one thing I don't see is extra pumps for sale so I bought an aquarium air pump to insert when pump dies. Also The pods are pricey but nice and firm. My major issue is no cover for the pods to prevent algae so I either use aerogarden labels or makeshift tinfoil ones which work well but it's more labor. So print , buy or make some labels or you will get green algae on top of pods. I never got any due to using covers. Last no major bells or whistles but mostly what you need. ... show more

I have never indoor gardened before and i have not even out door gardened much. I live in an apartment and this seemed like a neat way to get a little taste. Hydro is a lot different then soil but properly maintained i believe it is a much easier solution to plants then dirt. You do have to learn a bit about PH and EC in your water. after that it's much better then soil because you don't have to worry about over or under watering in hydro. As for this device! I have been growing plants in it for 36 days only. I was a little skeptical but it actually works very well. Especially for lettuce or low growing crops. The kale i had wanted to grow way too tall so i had to keep trimming the stalks even though it was a "dwarf" variety. The peppers are starting to flower already. I could stop them but i will let them go. The issues with the device for me are these. The holes are too close together. there might be 12 spots for plants but unless you are growing micro greens you can only realistically keep 4ish full grown plants in there otherwise they would be way too cramped. As you can see in my picture it is pretty cramped and i have 7 plants in there. The height of the LED lamp only goes so high. meaning if you want tall bushy pepper plants this device is obviously not it. This last one is a small issue but i wanted to be able to grow the plants with out using the stickers included but after doing some tests with and without stickers it seems the stickers are pretty important for a couple reasons. being mold and plant stem support. a long with that i found the plants i didn't use the sticker with were more likely to stem split and they all have white mildew on top of the plugs All in all if you are growing some lettuce for some turtles like me or maybe some short pepper plants. This device will do it. Plants i have grown in here and some i transplanted out are. Three varieties of pepper, leaf lettuce, dwarf kale, catmint, marigold, zinnia, lizzies. no plant has died being in the hydro device ... show more
