Fits my very narrow window perfectly. The dogs took to it right away and can now go in and out of the house as they please. I'm in a wheelchair and this saves me from always having to transfer myself from my recliner to the wheelchair ... every.single.time.they.wanted.in.or.out. which was ALWAYS. the magnet in it helps to keep the plastic door in place. it's easy to nudge open (for their nose sake) and it 'slaps' back into place. it's a great product for my needs. the security door slides into the slots very easy when it's time for bed or when i leave the house. My use of it is on a covered porch window access so I don't know it it would leak water when it rains or snows, but even if it did, i'm sure there is a way to seal around it. it's very snug in the window and isn't going anywhere. I've submitted a pic so you can see it in my window. the panes on the side are glass and the middle is the silicon plastic door. all are clear and see through, but the doggies have nose smudges on them. my dogs are Chihuahuas & a Beagle. they weigh from 20pounds to 3 pounds. all of them can nose the door to get through. I put pet stairs at the window for them to climb. they have their own patio on the porch on the outside. The beagle happened to go out the window while i was taking a pic of it. ... show more

We have two K-9’s — a 17 lb and a tall 30 lb with legs like a small goat who can shimmy under a sofa with just 6” leeway. Both are rescues and one just would not alert us to go outdoors giving us the task of mind reading. Until we had a better solution, I ordered the best Wegreeco doggie pants and although that worked like a charm, it made our sweet boy very sad. We have French doors so not an easy pet door option. We do have a basement window at ground level so looked for a way to create access. Although a window insert is most often used for cats it seemed the perfect solution for our situation. We purchased a 10.5” x 15” used insert and it arrived in a beat up box which made us tree huggers happy! Hubby had it installed in two minutes flat and we were in business. He says the adjustment mechanism was very easy. Of course the pups were dubious about the new contraption, but we made it a game and within a day they would enter and exit for treats but on the third day these two were happily running in and out when they pleased. Absolutely perfect for us! So grateful for this well made product. Note: Hubs installed the insert in an outside track so the window can be closed with the unit in place because he does things the way he wants. I absolutely love this! I have a catio that I recently converted to a doggio so my dogs can go out during the day and I don’t have to worry about them digging out. I searched for a doggie door that fit in a window that was big enough for my dogs to go out but would still fit in my regular slide up window. Well search is over. The media could not be loaded. Has made my life so much easier! We have French doors to the back yard so it was impossible to get anything else renter friendly. It is weather proof, as we’ve had some spring storms going through a lot lately. Easy to clean. My dogs go busting through sometimes too to go chase a squirrel and it’s proven to be very sturdy. I saw a review that said they feel like this could be kicked in and someone could break in but I definitely even tried when I locked myself out one day and it is fool proof Lastly, they emailed me a $30 Amazon gift card for no reason after buying this from the company!
