Features

  • Purpose: SN-025 is designed to crimp 28-18 AWG open barrel stamped and formed terminal which features two triangular insulation tabs.
  • Capability: Ideal for 2.5mm, 2.54mm, 3.96mm pitch stamped servo, PCB and D-sub terminals from Dupont, Amphenol, Molex.
  • Applications: Used to connect electrical wires on rechargeable battery packs, battery balancers, Arduino, 3D printers, and radio controlled servos.

  • This is the one I'm going to use from now on.
Model: SN-28B AWG28-18
I had purchased two other crimpers from iWiss.Neither one could be used for my new 1mm spaced connectors. This one works great for the 1mm as well as the other terminals at 1.5mm 2mm and 2.54mm.

  • A brand I’ve grown to trust.
Model: SN-28B AWG28-18
I have three different crimpers and a fourth on the way. I’ve been very happy with the first three and expect the same with my latest purchase.

  • Maybe not IWISS's best, but does the job
Model: SN-2549 AWG28-18
This tool works well enough. It's not as versatile and you maybe feel less in control compared to a non-ratcheting "two-step" tool like the IWISS 2820M or the Engineer PA-09, but it certainly does the job in my experience so far. Other thoughts: 1. It only has 4 die cavity sizes. This isn't unusual, but as mentioned it does make it less versatile than the 2412M (5 sizes) and the 2820M (6 sizes). In particular I think it would have benefited from another size in the middle of the range. 2. It makes a loud and annoying pinging noise as it ratchets. I have several other ratcheting crimp tools, including two from IWISS, and none of them do this. It doesn't seem to affect the functionality, but I find it so irritating, it's probably my #1 complaint about the tool. 3. The dies seem a little bit thick, which can result in some connectors being crushed slightly towards the tip, where they contact the back side of the top die. This hasn't affected the usability of the connectors I've tested so far, but it's possible it could be an issue for some. 4. Unlike many other open-barrel crimp tools, none of the ones in this SN series have the die cavity sizes printed on the tool, nor in the documentation. They only mention compatible wire diameters. This isn't really an issue for actually using the tool, but it does make it annoying to compare one to another. I think the sizes for outer/larger part of the cavity on the SN-2549 are 1.6, 1.9, 2.8, and 3.1 mm, but it's hard to get exact measurements so I might be one size off on some of those. 5. I noticed that the jaws don't stay lined up across their range of motion -- when looking at the tool head-on from the front edge, you can see that the dies start out offset from each other, and they only line up fully once the second ratchet position is reached. I haven't found this to be an actual problem, but I thought I'd mention it in case it matters to someone more knowledgeable than me. PS: I'm not sure why the SN-28B exists when the SN-2549 seems to encompass the same cavity sizes. Maybe different die thicknesses (see point 3)? Otherwise, it seems like the 2549 is superior. ... show more

  • Worth the Value
Model: SN-2549 AWG28-18
I have used other crimping tools in my profession and these crimps are well designed and have some good options. These crimps are ergonomically designed and fit well even in smaller hands. The crimps are very well built and i would suspect they will last many years.
