  • Excellent Quality!
I live in Colorado, we had a heavy snow, it rained for 2 hrs prior which cause thick hard ice as a result. I didn't know what to get to remove such thick ice, couldn't use salt as it's a new concrete driveway, came across this and sooooo glad I did! Scraping forward and backwards, side and sides, but more importantly, the pointed edge I could use to Crack the thick stubborn pieces of ice. I thought it would take me at least an hour, but it was so great of a scraper it took me 37 minutes, even did my neighbors as well..thank you for such a lifesaver, the sun just refused to melt the ice, needing this really bad, best buy by far! One satisfied customer for sure! Buy it! You most definitely will not regret it! ... show more

  • Feels sturdy and easy to handle
I got this ice chopper to help me clear ice from my driveway and sidewalk. I already had a snow shovel, but it wasn’t nearly rigid enough to break up ice that freezes up on our driveway and sidewalk. We get a few ice storms per year and they’re a nightmare to try to clear out without the right tools. This ice chopper should have no trouble with jobs like that. The head is solid and surprisingly sharp. It’s also very narrow - it’s about 7" across, which makes it good at chiseling off chunks of ice from the pavement. The handle is very long, which makes it so you can use it without bending over (thank goodness). It’s also hollow so it’s not too heavy but feels really sturdy. It has a padded grip section in the middle and the end cap is also padded which will help when you’re banging it against hard ice. Overall, I think this is a solidly made tool with a well-thought-out design. It feels really sturdy, and the design makes sense me. It breaks down easily too by unscrewing a few sections if you need to store it during the warm months. I’m quite confident that I’ll be able to tackle the ice storms this year. Anything that makes that painful job easier is worth having if you live in a climate that gets ice storms. ... show more

  • Well, we did get that snowstorm . . .
I live on 2+ acres, and I say that for a reason. I already have an ice scraper, so I am familiar, and being that I have larger amount of property, I really wanted another for the back deck steps and dog runs, not lazy but trudging throw snow in the cold to go get it, well, you know. This one is lighter than my old one. That really works for me. Either way, letting it fall on top of ice/pounding the top of the ice with it, it works, does the job. However, this is easier for me when I want to use it like a shovel and push up under the ice and walk with, like, to where you bust up all the ice then shovel it away. It's just lighter and easier to use. Again, it's heavy enough, though. I like it. Comfortable handle actually is effective, soft, kind of shock absorbing. Good product, thumbs up. ... show more

  • This arrived just in time for MI winter to set in
Size: 67"
Here in MI we often have weeks of well below freezing where even salt doesn't really work onthe ice. Sometimes you just need to get it off the road, driveway or sidewalk. For years I've used a straight shovel and hammered for hours getting it chipped loose. days ago it dropped from wet snow to deep freeze with wind chills of -20 F this worked perfectly on a few areas the froze solid. to the pavement. I actually leave out a section and use it slightly shorter. the sections are hollow steel, seem sturdy when using it properly, but i wouldn't misuse it and try to pry with it. Looking forward to have the right tool for many winters to come. ... show more

  • No ice yet but now I'm prepared
This comes in a smallish box ready to assemble. Like most things that need to be assembled I figured this would be a pain. Not all it it turns out. There's just a few pieces that essentially screw into each other and it's ready for the elements. It's all solid metal construction with a partially padded handle long enough to suit anyone. I'm just hoping it's a little while before I need it but when the ice hits I think this will do the job nicely. ... show more

  • This thing means business!
This thing looks like some kind of medieval weapon that was used in war. It pushes six feet in length, although you could shorten it by taking out one or more of the sections, as they just twist together. It is made of powder coated steel and is treated to be antirust and anticorrosion. At the business end of this thing is a sharp, angled blade that can cut through ice. This is advertised as an ice and snow scraper, but it can just as easily be used to knock down icicles from the roof, or to break up frozen ground. This tool is substantial, but it is not so heavy that a woman or teen couldn't use it themselves. I personally can't wait for winter to get here so we can put this thing to the test. ... show more

  • Does the job
I live in Alaska so have no shortage of ice to scrape off my driveway. This scraper was more effective than I expected, and you can adjust the length of it by unscrewing a section off the pole. It’s loud to use, so be mindful of your neighbors when you decide to scrape your driveway.
