Description

Despite inheriting the sleek and sophisticated beauty of the revolutionary SR bass, the SR Mezzo was designed to be fun to play. The SR Mezzo's 32" medium scale allows for both easy playing and a rich low-end. The SR Mezzo's full sonic palette will make hitting the stage a blast. No matter the style of music, the SR Mezzo fits you perfectly. The Ibanez SRMD200 SR Mezzo Electric Bass's 32" scale neck is 2" shorter than that of the general Ibanez SR models, but the Mezzo stills delivers a powerful low end. The SR Mezzo's compact, lightweight body and shorter scale offer effortless playability. The SRMD200 features a Poplar body, stunning new finish and a newly-designed pickguard. A smooth Maple neck and Maple fretboard with medium frets allow for a clear tone and attack. Electronics consist of an Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ and an Ibanez DXP neck pickup and DXJ bridge pickup for extra punch. The B10 Bridge allows fully adjustable intonation and solid tuning stability.

  • This is a PRO bass, NOT a beginner bass
I’ve been a pro working bass for my entire life and this Ibanez Mezzo bass totally rocks. Awesome neck and feel, sounds great too, I don’t think I’ll have to do any mods to it. This is the first medium scale bass I’ve ever owned and I’m very impressed, I’ve mostly played Fender P and Jazz bass’s 34” scale of course, but this 32” scale is just so effortless and comfortable to play. I actually like the Mezzo bass so much I got 2 of them, one black and one red. Anyone saying that this is just a beginner bass is sadly mistaken. The only thing I plan on changing at the moment is the white pickguards, I’m going to order a black pearl one for the black bass and red pearl for the red bass. Haven’t played the bass’s at any gigs yet because of the “no gigs Covid thing” but I’m certain the Mezzo’s will be great in a live setting. Cheers, Davyo ... show more

  • Love Me Bass
I'm an amateur and self-teaching. I had been using a friends bass for awhile but for me the neck was too long and the bass too heavy. I read some reviews for this one and ordered it off a music website. Back ordered because of Covid. All the big music sites the red model specifically was back ordered. I waited several months, still no update. Decided to check Amazon and to my surprise I found a seller on the market place that had it. Order placed, back order canceled and now I have my bass. Perfect neck length for me, much lighter than the one I borrow off a friend. Had it professionally setup and it sounds great. Very happy with my purchase. Seller packet it really well for shipping. ... show more

  • Great sound, comfortable scale length. Incredible value for the price.
I LOOOVE this bass. The sound is absolutely tremendous. I have been playing a short-scale bass until now (30"), which was comfortable to play, but had really questionable low notes. But i am not at all comfortable playing 34" scale basses. My fingers just aren't that long or quick. The scale length here is absolutely the sweet spot. Low Es are clear and resonant, and the slightly shorter scale is so much more comfortable to play. The neck feels fantastic, and both pickups have a really great tone, with easy blending between the two. ... show more
