The pump is compact and silent to the ear, and it appears that the rate of water movement and the wave action descriptions are accurate. The controller keeps accurate time. You have to assemble the submersible pump by lining up the rubber poles with the holes, which are not evenly spaced. Once that is done, you can place the pump wherever you want, as long as it is submerged, and the external magnet that holds it in place is on the ***outside*** of the aquarium. I had to read and re-read the instructions to set up and adjust the controller, but once I had it set, it was not difficult to understand. ***You have to set the clock to military time if you are setting it after noon. Also note that "sunset" begins at 2:30 pm (14:30).*** I adjusted the clock to coordinate it with my tank's daily photoperiod. ... show more

I do not desire the fanciest and most expensive products for my salt water aquarium. i am glad there are quality products at more reasonable points as I am on a budget. I find that this Hygger wave maker is great value at this price point and works well in my 28.5 gallon tank. The compact size is perfect. Operation is quiet and I really only hear it when the pump in my sump is off for maintenance. Great features with the scheduling functionality. Considering its size do not expect to surf these waves but if you are looking to add flow to the tank it is perfect. I also really appreciate Hygger including a lot of extras to offer with various installation options and based of this purchase would consider other products from the brand. ... show more

    • Nice super small wave pump
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
This pump is incredibly small. It puts out a decent amount of flow considering though. The unit feels pretty high quality with nice quality plastic components and even a ceramic impeller shaft. The control unit takes some getting used to - but once you figure it out it's simple enough to program and has lots of customizability. Basically it breaks the day up into 5 pieces and you can program each time slot with a unique selection of 4 power modes and 4 wave patterns. The things I don't like are it gets clogged pretty easily, and when it gets clogged it lacks the power to push through it. Last night it randomly stopped and there was some algae that was stuck in it. The good news is that it's very easy to take out and clean. Well mostly easy. The little rubber feets have a tendency to pop out. I know I'm going to lose some of those while cleaning though. They include a spare set but what about when those are gone? ... show more

This little wavemaker is power and quiet. The output is adjustable and fairly straight forward to adjust once you read the instructions carefully. Speaking on power the first tank I had it on was a ten gallon reef tank and it sucked up and killed a small clown fish. I made sure to bring the power down to around 40% then. I've been using it for about 10 months now and its currently on a 20 gallon and still going strong. Cleaning is simple and take out and clean like every 3 months. The way this pushes water I believe this could work up to a 55 gallon tank. Time will tell on longevity but I've heard of other pumps dying at 6 months so there's that. My only gripe is I can't turn the display off on the controller, the blue lights are always on so you may want to consider if that would be too annoying. ... show more

I bought the 2600gph version at the end of November 2022. I didn't use it until mid January. It quit working on me 3 times (err 7 I believe) from January to June. I cleaned it out each time and it would work again. I'm not new to the hobby. I understand how to to proper maintenance. This thing just doesn't last. It's a shame because it's quiet, easy to setup, and does a good job. But it costs almost double the Jebao version, which btw can also be daisy chained, and doesn't last. I have 2 of the smaller ones and each of them failed 2 times too. They are currently working but I have no confidence they will make it through the summer ... show more

When I first got this wavemaker, I was afraid it would be too strong for my 5 gallon. However, after some adjustments with the controller, it made just the right wave moments I needed. I would recommend this to people with a 5 gallon reef and larger. Any tank smaller might be over powered by this, even at its lowest level. Pro: quiet, offers different wave patterns, has a day/night cycle(you can program different wave motions ans strength threwout the day,) has a feed button which stops the flow for 10 minutes Con: it was a bit difficult to program at first (watch youtube videos! This will teach you more than the instructions will!) Overall, I would definitely recommend wavemarker and am planning to buy another one for my larger reed tank. ... show more

Needed to replace my original as it started messing up right after my warranty expired. Unfortunately they would not replace it. But communication is slow and when I ordered the new one, I noticed the packaging was different like when they originally sent and the inside was different. Personally might look like metal but did not want that in my fish tank. I reached out through Amazon as well email and they still have not gotten back to me about what material it is. Old one was all plastic but new one is different. For that I deducted two stars. Look at pic, I would prefer all plastic. My old one worked perfect just gave out about 13 months. ... show more
