I wanted some bubbles for my painted turtle and it works well for that. He was drawn to it right away. Only complaint is the sound, it’s not a soft sound and a little distracting. Guess I’ll get used to it!

it is a nice air stone . the bubbles seem smaller in size and the stone stays in place. I come with a tool that makes it easy to clean. i have had it for a couple months and have no problems with it. what else can you ask for

    • Attractive, well made, bubbler with small bubbles

The media could not be loaded. This bubbler has two features which set it apart: it’s acrylic, so it should last much longer than air stones (and is more attractive, IMHO), and it’s designed to create smaller bubbles. Smaller bubbles means more surface area which allows more oxygen to dissolve into the water. Hygger claims the use of EVA material to create bubbles is more corrosion-resistant than the material used by competitors, and that it will never clog. When I first connected to the bubbler to my air pump, the bubbles were plentiful, but no smaller in size than my other air stone. Then I saw in the manual that the bubbler requires an air pump of at least 2 watts to produce small bubbles, and my pump is 3 watts, but has two outflows. I connected the bubble to another 3 watt bubbler and indeed the bubbles were smaller. I then spoke to Hygger support who told me to use the pliers to tighten the cover on the disk to generate smaller bubbles (I had hand-tightened it). After that, small bubbles were produced using both pumps. The set includes a 1.77-inch (45mm) air bubbler, a 2-meter air tube (4mm diameter), a suction cup, a check valve, and stainless steel pliers (to adjust the size of the bubbles, and to remove the top of the bubbler to clean it, if necessary). The media could not be loaded. Build quality and style is good and i like it sits flush at the bottom where the airline connector is right at the corner of the aquarium for a clean look. However this high end airstone is extremely noisy - like having a mini motor running (see video - turn on volume). I have done multiple test to confirm the noise is from the airstone - after unplugging it and just let the airline blow bubble directly, everything went silent the only sound is the air bubble hitting water surface. Compared to when this airstone was installed, it makes a constant loud humming noise that drives you mad. (My air pump is silent). This may not be an issue if you have the aquarium by itself in corner of the room, for me it's a nano Hawaiian brackish shrimp tank that is sitting next to me on my work desk, i went to great length to ensure all equipment (air pump etc..) are completely silent. Never thought the airstone ended up making so much noise. I tried many fixes with different power air pumps and loosen/tighten the airstone lid, nothing helped. Not acceptable. I ended up just replace it with a cheap clear bubble wand - same function no noise and saved bunch money. (basically just some water surface movement for gas exchange to ensure water is oxygenated ) ... show more

This is just fantastic! Air stones are as old as the hobby itself. This is very unique. I purchased this and it had an issue with the bubbles. Turns out you really need to tighten it down using the odd pliers (supplied) Makes nice small bubbles. The best part? You won't find it floating. It's nicely weighted. ... show more
