I keep a bare bottom quarantine tank and needed something more than my HOB filter as that left mulm on the bottom of my bare bottom tank. I saw this "waste collector", and was unsure if it would work. To my surprise my tank bottom looks immaculate, and I can see all the poop collected. The assembly was simple as the whole thing got shipped ready to go! The only installation was attaching air line and finding a good spot. My only problem is that in a small aquarium it looks bulky and unsightly. To be fair, quarantine tanks don't have many decorations therefore making it stick out like a sore thumb. This product is life changing! I read the reviews but wanted to try it anyway and I’m so glad I did. I already ordered a second one and will be getting more for my other tanks. This works great if you have enough air pressure to pull it. I have 2 of these in a 125 gallon with 2 Oscars and other fish. The tank has white sand so I was cleaning out oscar poop daily before this. Now when I get up my sand is still white and all the Oscar poop inside these! I empty them about every 10 days and they are way to reassemble. ... show more

Product feels cheap. It was very dusty when I opened it. It sucks some fish poop/ food that is on the bottom so it kinda work. The fan on top is very useless. It barely spin to help with the suction. This product could be better.

    • This thing is AWESOME!!
First things first: for this thing to work well, you need a strong air pump! When I first got it I hooked it up to a dedicated air pump, but it wasn’t strong enough to move the impeller fast enough to create any suction. Swapped in a Tetra 60 and this thing is basically a constant poop siphon. Does a great job helping clean up after my giant clan of Goldfish, who eat 3 times a day. I got the product and a piece the holds the air intake doohickey was broke. Furthermore the previous mentioned doohickey pushes down on the filter and cases problems. If u try to fix the problem it just turn into a plethora of more breaks during to the brittle thing plastic used in the construction. Please don't buy. ... show more
