  • Great bang for your buck air pump
Style: 6W
I own this one AND the smaller 7.8L/min Hydrofarm pump, as well as others like Tetra. I'm an aquaponics guy and raise my own tilapia. I've tried a few different pumps out there and so far this brand has been the best value based on two main things: #1) Air flow per dollars spent - This pump puts out GREAT air flow through FOUR separate outlets that don't depend on each other. That's a huge benefit that eliminates having to have a "T" fitting AND two adjustment valves, which can not only slow your air flow but it's a pain in the ass to adjust. #2) Noise - I was very impressed with the low noise on this one which is significantly quieter than the smaller Hydrofarm even though the specs say otherwise. Very impressive, especially for a high volume pump. This one is almost as quiet as a Tetra Whisper pump but 300% more air flow given the equivalently priced Whisper. It also has very little vibration. Extra bonuses include the 4 outlets as mentioned, and adjustable air flow which is really cool. I own a bunch of pumps, including several Whispers like the Whisper 20, Whisper 40, and the larger Tetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150 which even that produces only 2.6 liters/min air flow while this sucker puts out 15 liters/min, although the Whisper is definitely the quietest pump on the market. Even the Whisper 300 only has 4.6 L/min output at three times the price of this one. BOTTOM LINE: This is now my favorite pump out of about 8 pumps that I own. There are other pumps that put out more air flow but they are much more expensive and very loud. There are also more quiet pumps on the market but you would need 2 or 3 of those to put out the same air volume as this one. For the techies out there, specifications on the box says: Power = 6W ; Pressure = >2.319 PSI ; Air Output = 15L/Min ; Noise = <45 dB ; Weight = 3.5 Lbs ; Size = 187mm X 165mm X 95mm (7.3" X 6.5" X 3.75"). Yeah, its HUGE. Comes with a 4 foot cord. ... show more

  • Great & Powerful Multi-Outlet (4) Air Pump
Style: 6W
Have this pump on set up on my DIY Hydroponic setup - I travel a lot for work so I have this air pump and my grow lighting on an automatic timer and the air pump has operated extremely efficiently. I have no complaints. It can get a little loud if you turn it all the way up to high, but I really have no need to run it that high and the setting I have it on is quiet and effective. It would have been nice if it came with tubing, but I purchased the tubing and valve accessories separately for a great price here on Amazon! ... show more

  • Lasts a long time!
Style: 6W
I use this brand of air pump in my hydroponic gardens that Ive had for about 2 years. My first pump became weak all of a sudden, so we ordered a new one. When they work, they work well!

  • Excellent value with a solid construction and air to spare
Style: 20W
Bought this pump just about a month ago, as a way to aerate a pond. I hooked it up to a 3/8 non-floating air line (via an adapter, as the outlet is a tight 1/4-inch). The run is about 25 feet, and ends in a T-fitting going into 2 large air stones. Good points so far: The pump moves a large quantity of air (the water looks like it's boiling) and shows no sign of slowing down. The mechanism is basically a solenoid moving at line frequency against a one-way valve. Unless the valve is poorly constructed, and if kept in a clean environment, it should last a very long time. The construction is solid, and the design simple. Many other reviewers have also commented positively about the pump's reliability and durability. The long air line that I'm using helps buffer the noise (the pump is VERY loud if run wide open!). It is noisy, but not excessively: Probably not appropriate for a home aquarium, but sitting on a piece of wood inside a plastic shoe box (to protect it from the elements), the noise is subdued and not at all intrusive. The pump also gets warm during continuous operation, but not to the point where it can't be handled. I'm guessing the greater the flow resistance, the greater the heat that's generated. The pump also has a built-in air filter that's easy to clean, and comes with a manifold with multiple valve controlled outlets. Haven't used it, so no comments. Down sides so far: my biggest complaint so far: the supplied nipple has an odd tapered pipe thread; it would be tough to replace. Other than that I find the pump to be an excellent value and a good investment. I would definitely recommend, and would not hesitate to buy another should the need arise. ... show more

  • Loud air mover
Style: 20W
This thing is loud, but it pushes some air. I took it apart and taped up the metal ball (masking tape, prolly would use electric tape next time). Put it back together and tightened up everything I could. It did help. It really did. I purchased this pump to brew some boogie brew. It works great but if I had this for an aquarium in the tv room. Nah, I couldnt do it. ... show more
