If you upgrade your X2 to Wi-Fi control with a simple, plug-in WAND module, programming is familiar, fast, and easy thanks to a helpful setup wizard using a smartphone or desktop device. Hydrawise maximizes water savings by automatically adjusting irrigation schedules based on local weather conditions. I bought 2 of these and the internet "wand" attachments. Super easy to connect and program..Can run each valve for a few minutes ( after seeding to keep seeds wet for 5 mins at a time) or just run a cycle. Gives me reports of when actual watering occurred. The other one I can't see come on each cycle but was able to get report. Loving this controller! Tip: Don't program the controller, program from the app or you will get conflicting programs). working like a champ so far! ... show more

Got this as a replacement for my 8year old Hunter X-CORE controller, which worked very well. I wanted to just replace the original, but could not, because they do not make one with just a pig tail AC cord. I had to move the entire controller through the wall to the inside, because I had not outlet on the outside of the house. They assumed I did, and, everyone else would also, for replacing the X-CORE. I do like the HydraWise software, but it is a little less flexible than I expected. The controller with the X-Wand is very good. ... show more

I absolutely love that I can use an app to control my watering, from anywhere I have signal! And instead of trying to figure out the manual super confusing control, the app is super intuitive. Highly recommend. You do have to pay for the extra WiFi thing though. Worth it!

I bought this to replace a perfectly good Hunter controller because I wanted to try the WiFi capability. The WiFi adapter is sold separately. So basically without the WiFi adapter it operates just like the controller I replaced. I ended up purchasing the WiFi adapter. When the WiFi adapter is installed and set up it disables the manual controller operation. If you remove the WiFi adapter or lose WiFi it switches back to the manual controller operation and watering schedule. For me the WiFi capability works great. The Hydrawise phone app allows me to remotely operate each zone without the need for a separate remote. That comes in handy when I'm testing out my system or replacing sprinkler heads. I set up a WiFi based watering schedule and also setup seasonal adjustments for each month. So far it has worked great for me. Be aware that if you don't want to use WiFi you just need to set up a Program/Watering Schedule just like you normally would. If you decide to use WiFi you will need to set up a separate WiFi based watering schedule. They are 2 separate programs but only one is enabled at a time depending if your're using WiFi or not. ... show more

I bought the wifi add on, After install and figuring out my master valve had to be activated, it was easy-to-use. Zone setup and naming the zones was easy in the app. Replaced a 25 year old controller.
