I used mad rabbit for my 1st tattoo and I did like it BUT I didn’t realize how much it really made my tattoo peel definitely. I peeled way more with mad rabbit than I did with this product. I bought this product for my new tattoo and I love the smell of it so much and how it warms up on the skin to help spread it a little more evenly it is a little more greasy but my tattoo is healing well and much faster than it did with mad rabbit so I recommend this highly and it helps with the itching healing process part I have way less itching with this product and honestly my tattoo seems to be almost healed in half the time already! ... show more

i wish i knew about this balm for all of my other tattoos - total game changer for the healing process. it goes on so smoothly, absorbs quickly, and moisturizes better than any unscented lotion or Aquaphor. i applied it several times a day and my tattoo healed beautifully. i didn't have any scabbing or dryness and the balm didn't come off on my clothes (my newest tattoo is on the inside of my forearm and didn't cause any issues when i wore long sleeves). it also smells really good so i'm definitely going to order the lotion that they also make. oh... and it's a cruelty free company - thank you for loving animals and using natural ingredients!! highly recommend - you won't be sorry! ... show more

I’ve tried 4 other aftercare balms/lotions including the infamous After Inked over the years and Hustle Butter is by far is my favorite. It is definitely greasy feeling when you first apply it but the best healing balms are. It does settle in more after a few minutes thankfully and provides hydration for hours. I’ve used it on healing tattoos before going to metal concerts and didn’t need to reapply until after the show for example. Ive personally noticed differences in my tattoos and their healing when I’ve used this vs other products. And the scent is nice-not too strong-a nice little treat for your nose while you’re doing something mundane like tattoo aftercare. It also doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I think it’s an awesome tool to have in your “tattoo aftercare toolbox”. That said, I do not use this on healed tattoos. It’s a little too intense for my preferences. I use lighter products for my more senior tattoos. I did recently give their newer lotion a try though and like that for post healing/aftercare. I’ve used Hustle Butter for years so it was a no brainer that I’d get it for my newest tattoo. Has a great scent, moisturizes your tattoo lasting all day, clear and doesn’t leave any white residue once fully rubbed into the skin. It can be sticky but most all are, works great!

I like how this product smells and goes on smooth without the stickiness. But for my bigger tattoo I feel that Aquaphor would have moisturized better during the first week or two. I had to keep putting it on frequently or maybe it was just my skin. I would also recommend getting the bigger jar if it’s a big tattoo. My tattoo artist recommended the brand to me, and I have to say, I was wildly surprised by how much better this is over anything else I’ve tried. I’ve had a lot of tattoos over the years, and I’ve run the full gamut of tattoo aftercare- vaseline, coconut butter, aquafor, cerave- I’ve never had a tattoo heal this quickly and without peeling and irritation. It stops itching, keeps the skin nice and moist, and rubs in fairly quickly. There is a little tackiness left over on the skin, but for the relief and the amount of healing you’ll experience, it’s well worth it.
