The Meta 3 eats batteries and is uncomfortable to wear for an extended time. This item solves both these two big issues. It has a huge 10,000 mAh external battery to power your headset for more than twice the time that comes with Meta’s internal battery and it’s much more comfortable with its foam head strap. This VR headset cost less than half what a comparable headset costs from Meta and the external battery is the largest one currently available. If you just want an extended battery with minimal additions to your Quest 3 this will do you just fine. The battery weight offsets the headset so it sits a bit more comfortably on your head, and the battery itself adds a couple more hours to a play session while under load. I struggle to give it 5 stars only because of value for money - for $60 there's other options out there that offer just a little bit more (in some cases a lot more). So for that kind of money I'd like to see better adjustment options, more padding, and better straps. But if you just want the default strap style but with a battery, this is one of the better options, and on sale you can get it for $40 so it's well worth it in that context. ... show more

This headset can keep up with the demands of the quest 3. After testing multiple games, make sure of mixed reality and demanding vr, my internal battery didn't drop down a single percent. Unfortunately, you do hear a buzzing sound. When I first put the strap on, I didn't hear a thing. As time went on the buzzing sound came to my attention. Honestly, it's a minor annoyance. If I was OCD or something, I'd be really ticked off by that noise in the background. The only issue I wanted to fix is a headset that can keep up with the demands of the quest 3. My other complaints are the lack of padding on the head strap as well as the back cup. It does fit decently on my head but I do feel padding or at least the backup would been a better option for the manufacturer. Also, the USB cord is attached to the head strap kind of janky. As you can see from the photos, is held on by a simple velcro strap. Doesn't look that professional. All in all, the head strap works. I do not believe it's the 10,000 battery. As you can see from the picture, the box contradicts the ad. You are not getting 8 hours of play time with this. I'll be happy if they can give me four. From my testing so far, it looks like it will. In spite of it's shortcomings, I'm giving it a three-star review. Solely because of the battery. It can keep up. I can't say that for most other head straps out there. ... show more

Not a fan of the single USB charging port. With my prior battery strap, I liked how there was a cord that connects to my quest headset and I can additionally keep the battery charged by keeping it plugged in. This head strap only allows you to either charge the battery or the quest headset. BUMMER
