This is a cool little hobby mini- table saw. I think I’m going to love it! It’s really neat! Very small and compact, yet very sturdy and well made. It’s nice and heavy so it should be nice and stable on a table or bench, yet easy to pick up, move around and store. It’s not at all rickety or rinky, but quality machined. It will be perfect for making precise cuts on small pieces of wood, plastics, etc. for various projects. It was a kit that had to partially be put together. The instructions were rather lacking but I figured out how from the pictures and it works like a champ! It even has a secondary axle opening on the side and comes with a small chuck so that a small grinding wheel or other drimel tools can be attached and it can be used as a mini-bench grinder! I rarely write bad reviews. I feel compelled to do it in this case. Below I explain why I reluctantly arrived at the one star rating. The saw has two component, the actual saw and the power supply. Since the power supply is the most dangerous part I will discuss that first. As seen in the picture, both the 12 Volt and the 120 Volt screw terminals are un protected accidental shorts could easily occur. More seriously the 120 Volt connection has no stress relief. The cable could easily be ripped out and cause a short or electrical shock. I believe that the absence of stress relief is agains most codes. My guess is that the vendor is using an off the shelf generic power supply that is designed to be placed inside a secure enclosure. The saw unit would be very nice if a few tweaks were made: 1. Cheap wing-nuts are used to secure the fence. More substantive nuts would enhance usability. 2. Sawdust exits through a hole on the side. A fixture for attaching a vacuum cleaner hose would be helpful. 3. The saw has rubber feet. These do not keep the saw for wandering when in use. A way to secure the saw to the workbench would be helpful. 4. The connection to the 12 Volt power supply is in front of the unit next to the on/off switch. Placing it in the back would be much less intrusive. 5. The 12 Volt connection uses a standard 120 Volt plug. Accidentally connecting a 120 Volt cable would fry the motor. 6. There is a hole on the side that provides unprotected access to the internal electrical components. Not safe. With some simple tweaks, this could have been great little saw, as it is it is a dangerous device. None of the problems with the machine would be difficult to fix, and I have the impression that the designers never saw the issues at they never. used the saw in a shop setting. I really wanted to like this saw, instead I am returning it. ... show more

Purchased this to put a diamond wheel for sharpening engraving cutters. When it arrived the power supply was damaged in shipment, I contacted the seller and sent a photo they immediately sent a new power supply by FedEx it arrived in less than a week. The saw is very well built and works amazingly well. It cuts straight and true. The saw for being a mini saw is very well constructed and heavy duty for its size. The blade can be adjusted height and very handy. Can use any 4 1/2 inch blades easy to change. I 3D printed an adapter that I glued into the opening for a vacuum hose which eliminates all the dust. I can send a STL file if anyone wnats to print one. Overall an excellent saw for the money, My son fell in love with it and is ordering one also. ... show more

I only cut a few small pieces of wood so far, and it seems to work well. The one thing that isn't working well is the push ruler and push ruler slot. Every time I use the push ruler it binds in the push ruler slot. I looked everywhere, but can't find the problem. I even filed some rough spots in the slot, but did not work. Too bad it doesn't work better. The push ruler, when working properly is an important part of the operation of the saw. I'll try to get some replacement parts, but until then I'll just have to deal with it. Update: I was able to return everything and got a replacement. The replacement works much better and the push ruler doesn't bind anymore. So, I'm happy with that. However I did receive a broken transparent safe baffle. I guess that's life. Oh yea, I want to make a note about the customer service from Huanyu. They want to make things right and will help you anyway they can. I changed my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars because of the help and improvements I received. ... show more

Cutting 3/8 inch walnut. Keeps bogging down. Have to feed wood VERY slowly. For thinner materials would probably work well . Very pretty though. Plan on making one using a miniature circular saw.

This little saw is very good for small cuts on things all the way up to about 1/4" thick. Past that, it has trouble cutting. One thing that does go bad pretty quick is the switch that comes with the saw. The company probably knows this issue because the saw comes with an extra rocker switch that is easy to change out. The problem is that the new replaced switch goes out pretty quick and now you are left with chasing a replacement down on Amazon. I've found them for about 12 dollars for 2 and they work ok. So if you are cutting wood or paper less than a quarter inch, this little saw will do what you need. If you need something that will cut thicker material, I'd recommend a little bigger saw. ... show more

I used the saw for about an hour. When I turned it on again, it didn't run. While using it, I noticed the following issues. - The chip clearance doesn't work well. I had to vacuum it out every few grooves. - The power cord sparks when plugged in, every time. - The wingnut on the fence prevents cutting grooves in anything taller than the fence, eg : > 1 cm. - The fence is often over the nut that is used to raise or lower the blade, so the height must be adjusted prior to the fence. ... show more
