I have little to say about this other than it works great. Prior to this, I was heating my 25,000 gallon pool to 90F (we like big baths and we cannot lie) and I had a severe algae problem on the shaded side of my pool. I would have to brush the walls every 2 days and ended up shocking frequently. Since I added this to the water - it's a copper-based solution, and copper is known to disrupt microbiological activity; it's a disinfectant in that way - I have never since had to scrub algae off a wall. It was a night and day difference. I will put this on my routine purchase list. I'll try two applications next season and report back if it doesn't keep the algae away. ... show more

NOTE: Amazon lumps reviews of several products together. HTH 67289, not HTH 67084 is what actually works. I would not recommend HTH 67084. Lots of money and poor performance. HTH 67289 is what works. Started working in minutes and getting better by the hour. We spent a lot of money on the other algaecides by the same company and other companies. None of them worked. Our pool would be green as ever within a week. We used a lot of chlorine far more than we should have. This product works. ... show more

    • Works to kill all types of algae in your pool, but foams for a few days.

If you are battling algae, especially mustard algae which is so hard to get rid of, this product will work for you. It doesn't foam a lot, unless you overapply, but it will cause a slight foam when people are playing in the water, up to three days later. I'm not sure if this was the cause, but one of my grandchildren (three year old who puts water in her mouth and occassionally drinks the pool water) got a low grade fever and threw up a few times after swimming in the pool three days after I applied this product to kill algae. It could be a coincidence, but maybe take precautions to prevent getting water in the mouth for a week following the application. ... show more

For the past several years I have added 1 container of this algaecide every 6 months to my in-ground gunnite pool and it has kept it completely free of algae.
