I installed four of these panels on the roof of our RV. Instead of buying the all in one kit I decided to piece my own package together. Mainly because I was limited on space so four panels is all I have room for. Instead of four 100 watt panels that seem to be the most common at the moment, I installed four 190W panels. I looked at other brands like Rich Solar as well as a couple others (GoPower, Renogy) but chose HQST over them. These were priced fairly and in doing some research the reviews were all positive. I installed these with a Victron controller and they are working great. Installation was easier then expected. Packaging was good and the panels arrived in perfect shape. Foam protects the corners. There is also some foam covering the outside middle panel edge. This was more than sufficient to get them to me safely. I bought the HQST mounting brackets as well as the HQST wiring to connect the panels to the charge controller. If I were to make a recommendation more mounting holes to add some additional installation flexibility would be helpful though this doesn't seem to be available with other brands as well. With the help of a stud finder I was able to line up the panels to the hit the studs within the roof. Some additional mounting options would be nice. Overall it wasn't a difficult installation at all and everything is working perfectly. ... show more

In 21 I bought 4 of these and mounted them on top of my camper. We have traveled all over the U.S. and Canada with these for the last 2 years. They have seen every weather, ice, hail, high winds, blistering heat and a few tree branches. Best of all, after a couple of modifications to our A/C and 400 ah of Li batteries, on a hot sunny day sitting in a field or parking lot they power my A/C ALL DAY without being connected to city power, they have seen some use. It's called a "12v" panel because it can charge 12v batteries. I was new to solar and didn't realize that it was common for 12v panels to actually have open circuit ratings ~20v. I mostly went with these because of hte solid color, and the perfect size to cover the top of my deck storage box. Still produced a few watts of power in dappled winter sun and partially covered in ice! ... show more

10 watts less than 200 watt panels at a large cost reduction. I have now purchased 10 of these panels to replace some older BP 175 watt panels, and they are much lighter and smaller. I also have an array of 6 100 watt HQST panels that are decades old and still performing well for me, that is why I went HQST again this time. HQST panels strike me as well made and reliable. Sturdy as well. I live in Florida and the 100 watt panels have done fine through hurricanes and hail over the years. Only gripe is the packaging. A little tape on the boxes would keep them from being delivered open and torn. Most of the panels arrived fine despite the torn up boxes, so the packing itself is AOK. How about just a little tape on them though? 4 of the 10 panels had dented aluminum frames but none so severe that the panels were unusable. All 4 dented panels had fully opened boxes when they arrived so I imagine they probably fell out of the boxes at some point. A little tape would have prevented that. ... show more

I built a mobile "camp" system. Couldn't decide between traditional rigid panels and lighter flexible panels. Bought a pair of each. Both rated at 100w x 2. The flexible units produced about 165W. Then after about 15 mins the output dropped in half. One unit was only making 6w. I let it cool off then tried again. Same result. The rigid units cranked out over 200w. So, I returned these flexi units. HQST was very responsive so, go them. The rigid units are obviously heavier etc. But they stand up nicely and produce more watts. I'm sure these would be great for the correct application. But I'd test any panel before you commit to an installation. ... show more

I've had very good luck with these HQST solar panels. I mounted three of them on the roof of our camper to supplement the factory installed name brand 190 watt panel and they work great.
