    • Quick tips for replacing the power cord of a DC14
The seller was great - no issues at all. The replacement cord however, was a beast to figure out. Your new power cord should ideally come in a package with no clips or covers on the ends of the cord, and two of those clips for you to apply at the right time.. This product had rubber covers at the end that were absolutely useless for my DE 14 Low Reach. Let me explain so if you purchase this item you’ll quickly (unlike my full hour) have this project completed. The end of the old power cord has a clear electrical male cover that is used to click into the vacuum’s female power switch. To get this item to work properly you will need to cut off the rubber covers at the end of your NEW power cord, and then remove the plastic clips from the OLD power cord and set them aside. When you take your vacuum apart, you will have a curved plastic pipe that will need to be reapplied – push your power cord up this curved piece BEFORE putting on the clear plastic clips. Then your new cord is ready to click into place on your vacuum. It was easy to get the rubber cover off the new power cord by simply cutting it off and a little effort to get the plastic clips off the old power cord but they do come off. Lastly, the new power cord’s ends may not have enough bare wire to put the vac back together- if so, you’ll need to CAREFULLY remove some of the rubber cord to expose more length of the wires. I used really tiny toenail cutting scissors bc they are sharp and small enough to maneuver. There are no instructions but you tube has some good ones. It’s the only way I could figure this out start to finish. Don’t be afraid of doing this repair yourself - I have NO electrical knowledge whatsoever and I did it myself. ... show more

Arrived quickly. Easy to install- wrap elec tape around staggered wire ends and make a tail, pull tail through the anti-bendy, grommet thing (wet the grommet part first for lubrication). Takes a bit of wrestling, but not that much. Only advantage over OEM that I can see is the speed of delivery. Good product. ... show more

The cord runnning itno the vacumm handle is protected by a "sleeve" to prevent continual bending and eventually breaking of the wires. The replacement cord is very difficult to feed through this sleeve because both connections are side by side. If one was slight longer than the other it would easily go through the sleeve and attach to the leads inside the vacuum handle with no problem. ... show more

Replaced the cord on my DC25 vacuum with this. Bought this one specifically because it had the clip to attach to the cord when stored. Perfect replacement with one exception, the cord comes with 2 female spade connectors and the one I replaced had one female and one male connector. Simple solution was to cut the white male spade connector from original and solder it onto the new one. Simple fix and now our Dyson vacuum doesn't go to the dumpster! ... show more

Fixed my Dyson in about 5 minutes. Works great and is easy to install. Google "changing Dyson power cord" and you'll get all the pix you'll ever need to do it in minutes... NO HARD WIRE.... easy clips to push into place.... wish I'd have done it sooner.. Didn't know it would be so easy. And, every bit as good as the cord that came with the Dyson. ... show more

This cord is pretty rigid compared to the original Dyson cord. Less flexible and harder to wrap up on the machine. This cord lasted a little over 1 year after install before it shorted out up inside the sleeve going into the machine almost shocking the user. This could have ended badly. I do not recommend this cord, buy a real OEM Dyson cord for slightly more. ... show more
