I used the product last night. I think my water heater was pretty limed up. (We have very hard water). The device addressed the problem. During the process the kitchen faucet got stopped up and I had to apply reverse air pressure to the faucet to clear it up. I ended up getting a lot of lime out, a lot of big chunks. The drain valve kept clogging up so I had to keep working with it until it ran freely. I worked for about 3 hours on this, and I will probably have to have another go at it. 90 PSI seemed about right. Now that I'm more familiar with this process, it will go more quickly. The device works well. The design and materials are good quality. I expect to use this for a long time. The clear plastic let me visually monitor what was going down the hose. It would be best to use this before the water heater gets too bad. Best for routine maintenance. I would buy again. ... show more

This thing is fantastic!! I could not drain my water heater due to it being plugged with so much sediment and a few blasts of compressed air with this little tool cleared it right out, I would be looking at another water heater if I didn't discover this simplistic and magical tool.

I use it at first time and find no sediment out. So I asked to return it. After I googled Internet and worked with my water heaters. I have some recommendations: 1. The most important thing for flush WH is replace the old valve with a full port switch; 2. Using a wet vacuum is more efficient way to remove sediment; 3. The same effect can be achieved by using the inlet switch to turn it on/off. ... show more

    • Best gadget I didn't know I needed
I have a water heater that was using a lot of propane to heat our water and I knew it needed to be cleaned out. It had been about four years and I just let that task get away from me. When I attached the hose and opened the drain valve, water barely trickled out. I tried using a piece of wire to break through the sediment (I did this on another water heater) but it was just an exercise in frustration. I looked up how to unclog the drain and this came up. It had good reviews from plumbers and I decided to order it and give it a try. I also ordered a $6 bicycle pump to attach to it. After watching some videos on how to use it and reading the directions, I gave it a go. Pretty easy, attach the valve to the drain, open the drain, blow in some air with the pump, open the valve. Worked immediately and blew out the sediment. Couldn't be happier or more pleased with this attachment. Worth every penny. ... show more

    • Worked as advertised.
This thing was very easy to connect and use. I used a power air compressor turned down to aid in a task. Was quite surprised that my two year old hot water tank did not have that much sediment. It did however, flush some out, so I guess that’s the purpose of doing this.

First, the build quality seems great. The premise also seems great. Second, it didn’t work for me. We moved into this house and when I went to service the tank nothing happened. So I got this to help and it didn’t work for me. My take is that my hard water sediment load is simply too old, established, and fully mineralized. Sigh. Still, when I eventually get a new tank, I’ll be glad to have this in hand. ... show more
