  • As advertised, but I was assuming everything was standard.
I'm happy with the tank the only problem was my fault, I just assumed things would fit, but this thing is short and wide I actually had to tear out my shower partition to put it in, but the fault was all mine the tank works great

  • Need 30A dual pole breakers in you panel to support this tank
Size: 26 Gallon Side Port
The heating elements are 5500W x 2. So 20A breakers will pop on you after a few minutes. I caught it before the plumbers installed my unit. Otherwise the unit is working as designed.

  • Stopped working after a few weeks.
I am taking cold showers now because this GE water heater stopped working. Should have gone with a more reliable manufacturer.

  • Great for increasing capacity and efficiency
Size: 18 Gallon
During the oil crises, engineers worked hard to increase capacities and efficiencies of our fuel related lives. So we got more efficient cars, better insulation, etc, etc. One of the innovations from back then for better efficiency was about making hot water. Nearly everyone had a 40 or 50 gallon tank water heater, many operating on natural gas. If you take a small electric water heater, install it before the larger one running on fuel, and just half pre-heat the water with the electric one, you'll not only gain capacity for a larger family, but greatly increase the efficiency of the whole system. This is what I did with this 18 gallon electric water heater, and everything is working a treat. Great solid package with a very good heat control, and a great reputation following these GE water heaters. ... show more

  • Great water heater but it is 28 gallons not 26
Living the tiny home or RV life comes with its own set of challenges, and finding a reliable hot water heater can be a big one. Space is limited, but you still need a steady stream of hot water for showers and dishes. Well, the GE Top Port Lowboy electric water heater might be your perfect solution! This water heater is a lifesaver for compact living spaces. Here's why it shines: Small Size, Big Performance: Despite its compact size, this GE heater is a mighty performer. It heats water quickly and efficiently, ensuring you always have hot water on demand, whether you're cozy in your tiny home or parked at the campground. Easy Installation: Replacing an old water heater can be a hassle, but not with this GE model. It utilizes standard water and electrical connections, making installation straightforward. You'll be up and running with hot water in no time! Built to Last: The anode rod provides long-lasting protection against corrosion, giving you peace of mind about the lifespan of this water heater. In a tiny home or RV where maintenance space is limited, this durability is a major plus. There's one thing to keep in mind: The box may list the capacity as 28 gallons, while the product description online mentions 26 gallons. This minor discrepancy likely won't make a big difference for a tiny home or RV, but it's something to be aware of when considering this model. Overall, the GE Top Port Lowboy water heater is a fantastic option for tiny homes and RVs. It's efficient, easy to install, built to last, and perfectly sized for compact living. It's the hot water hero you've been looking for! ... show more
