  • Sad I didn't have this the last 3 years. It's perfect.
I am a plant entheusiast and our collection is quite extensive and very sensitive to humidity changes. We typically keep tropical plants that require 70+% Relative humidity and some will get super crunchy sad leaves if the humidity drops below that for any extended period. We live in the desert and keeping humidity that high and stable can be a challenge. Previously I had stand alone units that were 5 or 6 gallon and rated for 2000sq feet. They worked fine but my humidity was always +/- about 10% in either direction. They also required constant water filling as fornour greenhouse size they would go through 5 gallons a day easily. In the last 3 years I have gone through 3 of those stand alone units and this time I decided i was done with them and needed something real. Honestly this unit isn't much more expensive than a good stand alone unit and it is INFINITELY better. First off: wall mount is a God send. Frees up so much floor space and makes the room seem so much less cluttered. The auto fill is fantastic as now I can just let it run instead of worrying about it when my spouse and I go camping for 3 days. Now I just set the humidity and it just does it with zero effort on my part. And the humidity is dead set stable. Our greenhouse has a good amount of air circulation and we have 3 independent humidity monitors around the area. All of them read within about 3% of each other which I attribute to device precision. They never read exactly the same even when placed in a small plastic bag together. So far the humidity has stayed exactly where I want it and within the 2% deviation toleration we set on the machine. Set up took me only about 20 minutes which is probably faster than most but I have previous plumbing experience and my layout was pretty easy to run cords and water lines. The package came with absolutely everything I needed except for a single T joint to tie into my RO/DI system. It came with about 35 feet of water line and about 50 feet of drain line. Set up was easy and pretty self explanatory even though the instructions aren't the best. I think anyone can do it with a little thought and problem solving. My only possible complaint is that the unit is slightly noisier than I expected. I tested and with my fans running the ambient room noise averages 43 decibels. With this humidifier running that sound goes up to anywhere between 51-54 decibels. It's not loud but it's also notable. In my situation that's fine since it's a greenhouse but I also have a reading nook in there and maybe it will bug me while I read. I think I can easily make some improvements though with a little sound dampening insulation around the ultrasonic basin and swapping out the internal fan (which is what creates most of the noise) for a similar size and voltage ultra quiet aftermarket fan. Would probably cost me all of $15 to buy parts and half an hour to make it completely unnoticeable over the ambient noise. I can't comment on longevity as I've only owned it a few days but it's a simple machine and looks well built so I anticipate it will last a while. As of right now I could not be happier with this unit. ... show more

  • Sadly, overtime, doesn't work so well.
When first installed, put out great mist, kept my print room's humidity up. 4 months later...until barely puts any mist out. I've cleaned it, emptied unit completely. Definitely should have lasted longer.

  • Works Great! 1000sqft coverage is no problem at all
First unit was DOA. Got a prompt phone call, and without hesitation the seller sent over a new unit. New one arrived perfectly and works awesome. Things go wrong sometimes, and having a seller who stands behind their product says a lot, I’m thankful for the support! The application was bringing the room up to a proper humidity level for a UV printer in a 1000sqft long and narrow space. The humidity sensor is spot on and kept it at the rated humidity level with no issues at all. The fact that it hooks to a direct water source is also fantastic. 100% would buy again! ... show more

  • Great unit for a print room!!
We bought this system about 4 months ago and we are VERY happy with what it does. We have several expensive large format plotter printers that are sensitive to humidity, it must be between 60 and 70% humidity for them to function correctly. This does that with ease. Our print room is 150 sq feet and has constant traffic in and out all day and it does maintain the set humidity without a problem. Given that this unit is a fogger, make sure you mount it where it is not blowing directly on a printer. It is a very simple install, hang it, plumb it, plug it in and set it and forget it! That is it, 20 mins total install time. The controls are very simple to program. It does come with all of the proper fittings. All we needed to buy was a 1/4 inch T tube quick connect fitting to splice into our RO system. ... show more

  • Great concept! Quality control issue.
I needed automatic 50% humidity for a 200 sf guitar room. Installation was straightforward, though the instructions could be better. Within 6 hours of operation, I experienced intermittent operation, followed by a circuit breaker shutdown. I considered sending it back, but my skill set said take it apart and see what's wrong. Removing the cover revealed all the electronics soaked dripping with water (see pic). I also discovered the plastic top to the water tank was not securely fastened and the "mist" had been watering the electronics, along with the room. After a few hours with a hairdryer, I secured the plastic top to the tank (it audibly clicks to lock in place) and restarted the process. It's been running great for 24 hours now, room at 50%. Now realizing what the issue was, I remember the plastic nozzle, which is part of lid, seemed to be loose when I opened the box. So, before operating, check to see that the tank lid is securely in place. It gets a 4 for lack of quality control. Love the concept and design. ... show more

  • Very high output, well designed installation system
This was pretty easy to install onto our existing RO system. It came with plenty of parts, and a nice wall hanger with a full install kit. It's easy to program and brought up humidity VERY fast. The fan could be a bit quieter, but it's not as loud as our old evaporative humidifier that didn't do nearly as much for humidity. This is in our house which is pretty large, and it easily keeps up with it. ... show more
