  • Works with my 8k diesel heater
Size: 4" X 8 FT Color: Black
I use this hose to help get more heat into my tent. During very cold camping a non insulated hose loses too much heat. We were heating two tents at one time in 14 degrees and due to heat loss in the hose it was a struggle to keep up. With this hose we don’t have any issues as I can’t feel that the hose is warm from the outside. ... show more

  • Easy to use. Good quality

Bathroom vent. Worked very well. A bit shorter than advertised

  • Overall good duct
Size: 4" X 8 FT Color: Gray
Duct was good, only issue was that clamp rings were too small, so 2 each really was only one ring each as you have to double them up to fit over the insulated duct. The other minor issue that you can't do much about is that the thicker duct can be difficult to install on some fans as they don't have much clearance between the fan exit and the ceiling drywall. That was only an issue because the fans were already installed and I was just replacing the ducts though. ... show more

This is a great product as far as quality but I wish they were longer. A 25 ft section would be nice

  • Excellent Upgrade for Portable Air Conditioner
Size: 6" X 8 FT Color: Gray
The stock hoses for my portable (two-hose!) air conditioner had disintegrated, and I've long been considering buying a set of insulated hoses for it ever since I bought the unit. I'm honestly surprised that they were not insulated at all out of the box. As such, I bought two of these hoses in 6"x8'. Installing them onto the original hose adapters was a bit of a task, entailing very liberal application of duct tape. This done, I connected them up and powered the unit up. I did not buy these hoses with the intent of being quiet, but I was honestly and pleasantly surprised by how much quieter the condenser side fan was now. I can barely hear it anymore, and it quickly subsides under the sound of the compressor once pressure builds. With the original hoses, it was easily the loudest part of the entire air conditioner. I cannot measure the thermal performance directly versus the original hoses, due to the original hoses having disintegrated years ago as of me writing this review. However, I can definitely say that, before, it was actually hot behind the unit. With these, it's significantly cooler, and the unit's performance has significantly improved. It can now actually cool my garage! Something it used to struggle with. The hoses have also survived from a durability standpoint significantly better than the original plastic hoses. Although they ARE a little less convenient to store when the air conditioner's not in use thanks to their bulk. That's the only "negative", other than the admittedly improvised installation, that I can even say about them. Final Answer: If you have a portable air conditioner and use it with any regularity, upgrade it to insulated hose(s) now. You will not regret it. ... show more

  • Excellent thermal insulation. Excellent noise reduction. Good quality.
Size: 6" X 8 FT Color: Gray
I purchased the 6" x 8' hose to install on my portable air conditioner. Anyone that has one, you know the heat that radiates from the included hose is very high and inefficient. Although this hose does not look the prettiest, it is an absolute must for replacing the included hose on your conditioner. Running my air conditioner prior to this hose, I could only keep the room about 8 degrees below outside temps. After installing this hose, the room cools MUCH FASTER, and also gets about another 6 degrees cooler compared to the outside. An almost double cooling efficiency. This hose is room temp to touch, and feels like it contains >90% of the heat my previous hose allowed through. In addition, the air conditioner unit runs much quieter due to the sound insulation this hose provides. At least 30% of the noise from your AC is coming from the turbulent air flow rattling around inside the hard crimps of your standard plastic hose. If you do purchase this hose for your AC, make sure to get a size slightly larger than the diameter of your input/output, so you can fix the hose to the exterior of the couplings with a good duct tape. Honestly, if you try to fix the hose to the interior, it seems like you might end up rupturing the lining and exposing the fiberglass inside, which would be bad. I used the larger size and it secures nicely in place with a good 3" wide duct tape. ... show more

  • Drill a bigger hole!
Size: 4" X 4 FT Color: Black
The tubes arrived and came with two 4" hose clamps. The first tube installed smoothly and with no issues, the 4" feed hole was widened to 5 inches or so and installed with a bit of effort. The second one....was a problem. The area being fed into was confined and I was not able to get the hole as wide. While feeding the tube into the space the wirecoil tubing seperated from the insulation sleeve. The duct is now bunching internally and the duct will have to be replaced. I will have to order a replacement and try again. Use as wide a hole as your installation allows, or install the ducts and then attach the tubes from the back side if possible. ... show more

  • Only ends 3" diameter, hose itself is 5"diameter
I got my 3" HVAC hoses for the thermal insulation because my current ones had non, just thin plastic flexible shell, and while this one looks like the thermal insulation will work good the plastic outer shell is rather weak same as old ones, I saw a minor cut and taped it up, air was escaping and the actual hose itself is 5" diameter not 3, which is relevant if you have space constraints other than the coupler. The coupler or ends if you can call them that are just taped up to the size of 3 in and you kind of got to work it out and stretch it out and put some effort into getting the tape ends to where you can actually make a short sleeve of them to slide over and clamp them onto where they are meant to go, because it's just a taped circle on the end that is bunched up heavily wrinkled and a bit stiff due to tape thickness ... show more
