So I bought my sofa in May of 2016. I read some reviews that said it doesn't even last a year. Well nearly 3 years down the road the first spring in the sofa just popped but it's used everyday, the dog plays on it and has been abused. I was amazed that it lasted so long and was very impressed with it. If you are apprehensive because of the negative reviews it's more than likely they received one of poor quality, it happens with manufactured items, or they are telling you the abuse it went through. I would definitely buy it again if money was still an issue but may buy it again just so I don't have to worry about it. A massive plus, it doesn't easily show stains in the brown color selection and doesn't show the red sand which gets into and destroys everything where we live. ... show more

Like others said, it came shipped in a box. That was actually very convenient for me being that I live on the second floor of an apartment building. The box fit more easily in the elevator and into the doorway than it would have if it were assembled. It comes in 6 pieces - the long bottom part, 3 seat backs which slide easily into the bottom, and 2 "ears", which slide onto the sides of the seat backs. The assembly is a breeze, even though the included instructions aren't especially clear. It took me a minute to figure out that the "ears" slide onto the seat backs and lock into place. The couch itself is very comfy! The arms and headrests are plush, and the cushions are soft but firm enough that you don't completely sink into them. The recliner has 2 stages, the first brings out the leg rest and the second reclines further back. The seats are pretty flat, so it's good for laying down across it as well. Can't think of anything bad to say about it, I'm very happy with this couch! Updated: Ok, I can say two bad things about it. Still not changing my rating though because this is a nice couch for the price. First thing is, some people might not like the reclining mechanism. It pops out very fast, and can be difficult to close. It doesn't bother me, but it has bothered guests. Secondly, the area where you put your feet after it reclines is a bit flimsy. I broke mine on one side after leaning on it. It's just foam cushion held by thin fabric and a zipper. I stuffed the cushion back in and duct taped it, and it's holding up fine.     • Don't be afraid to order this item.
We received the sofa today, two days ahead of schedule. The delivery company called & verified time and they were spot on. We live in a rural area and the driver handcarted the box down our sloped driveway rather than drive down. He brought it all the way into our entry way where I told him that was good. The sofa was boxed and wrapped VERY securely with extra packaging around the edges and lot of tape. The sofa was undamaged. I was pleased with the color right out of the box. It was exactly as pictured on Amazon. The only trouble we had was putting on the "ears" onto the backs but finally got it. The backs went on easily and the feet are padded a bit so no extra little pads on the floor will be needed. The recliner mechanism is easy to use and pops right out for the first reclining position. It's a bit more difficult to go fully back but it's comfy once you do. I didn't find returning to the upright position that difficult although it did take some leg power. I'm only 5' 2" so maybe a longer legged person wouldn't find it as difficult as I did. It looks great in the front room and just what I wanted. We'll see in time how it holds up. We don't have kids or pets so I'm assuminig it will last a great long time. This was the first large piece of furniture I've purchased online and I'm happy with the entire process.     • Comfortable and nice fabric
Beautiful couch. Like some of the other reviews there was some difficulty with lining up the backrest and ears. But with patience and determination it went together. The fabric is slightly lighter in person, though still very pretty. The fabric is still soft and seems well made. Overall seems like a great couch! We have had our couch for a year and 7 months and we have a four year protection plan. One side of our choach has broke in the back on the board just from us learning back like you normallyt can. How can I use my warantee to replace this product

    • an honest review of the sofa/loveseat
I can honestly say I love this set (I bought the loveseat and matching sofa). My old set was over ten years old, didn't recline and I was really dreading getting a new one because I have a small entryway. Then I saw this on amazon and I loved the fact that it was oversized and rocked/reclined. The major selling point though was it comes with the back unattached. I easily the bottom section thru the door and then put the back sections in (they just slide in and lock in place no tools needed). The thing to remember is the bottom part is HEAVY.....you will need two or three strong friend/family members to help you lift it in. The effort is well worth the trouble though.......it is really firm and comfortable. I am 6' tall and I can lay across the sofa no problem with room left at my feet. I like the extra long loveseat as well....the center console has hidden storage and makes a great arm rest. The price is very reasonable, I doubt you could find a set for less than amazon charges and the delivery was excellent, they can at the time I scheduled and were very friendly.
