This kit comes with everything needed to get started with growing bonsai trees, ive heard they can be very hard to grow but Im always down with a challenge and it looks like it may very well be fun so I figured why not.

This sure seems like a complete kit. Besides what’s included, the instructions call for paper towels, plastic bags of the sort people store food in and a small water sprayer. The instructions are clear and with notes about customer support in case of questions or issues such as the seeds fail to sprout. As a start, I’ve got two types of the half dozen or so supplied to sprout. I chose two examples labeled as ‘easy’. When they do sprout, I’ll plant in the supplied dirt and nutrient using the supplied pots and saucers. From there, I’ll be on my way to making a bonsai tree. If my very non-green thumb can get these plants going, I’ll check out more advanced sources of information on how to proceed as the trees get taller. I’ll also start the next batch. Please see the image of the opened kit and my two species attempt at sprouting. For now, it strikes me I have a good start so it’s up to me to get this operation going. The completeness of the kit as well as the lucid instructions are worth the five stars to me. If, as time passes I find some issue that’s due to shortcomings of the kit, I’ll edit this review accordingly. As I see things now, this is a strong way to launch a new pastime. ... show more

Not sure why, but for some reason, I have always loved bonsai trees. Over the years, I have owned several small ones. I've always done pretty well, with them. However, when I got them, they were already grown. When I saw this bonsai starter kit, I thought I would try something new, and grow my own. So, when I got the chance to get this kit, I did not hesitate. This starter kit includes all of the necessary seeds and accessories needed to grow the 6 tree seedlings, which include Acacia Green Wattle, Blue Jacaranda, Crepe Myrtle, Lodgepole Pine, Rockspray Cotoneaster, and Sacred Fig. I performed the easy to follow instructions, by soaking the seeds and soil discs, then sewing the seeds, followed by having good humidity and ventilation, and avoiding direct sunlight. Hopefully, to grow these 6 trees is as simple as that. At this point, I will just have to wait and see what happens. I can't wait to shape them. That is the fun part. ... show more

This is a great hobby. I really enjoy it. I have tried other kits for this and most of them fail. They also have alot seeds and pots. This set comes with 6 high quality pots. Also has alot of dirt for your future trees. I also enjoy the fact they give you really nice plant markers. I recommend this for yourself or as a gift. ... show more
