I love this cast iron pizza pan so much, I bought a second one! It works great for pizza and much more! I also use it to make homemade tortillas, pancakes, burgers, fry bacon, and more! It is great for anything that you would cook on a griddle! Cast iron is a super great material to cook with, and fortunately this pan heats relatively even. And it is so nice looking! Make sure to season the pan well before using. My secret to getting a crispy pizza crust: I put the pizza together on the pan and then place the pan over the burner at medium heat until it starts to turn golden brown in spots and starts to crisp. Then I put it in a super hot oven. Depending on the style of pizza, I sometimes finish it under the broiler. Yum! ... show more

This is one amazing pan. I have used it to cook a variety of meals. It has been 100 % on everything I have tried. I read a review that this pan is returned a lot. I can’t imagine why. Maybe folks that don’t know how to use cast iron. To me it is an amazing pan. Just tonight I was tired n needed a quick dinner…..I opened a can of corned beef and browned it to perfection in this amazing pan. It was advertised as a pizza pan….I use it for everything…..becoming my favorite. Bought it to learn to make home made tortillas. Next adventure! ... show more

The surface is very rough on both sides. Even though it’s rough my tortillas didn’t stick and came out like they usually do on my smaller lodge cast iron griddle. I also used it to warm up corn tortillas on one side and pulled pork next to the tortillas and neither stuck to the pan. I did season it once and it’s so rough just putting a small amount of oil on it was kinda hard to do. The pan would be a 5 star if it was smoother. It’s not flimsy but it’s not very thick either. I feel it does have a good weight to it and it was packaged very well when it arrived. I definitely wouldn’t cook any eggs on it. Hope my review helps someone. UPDATE: I made scrambled eggs with onions jalapeño tomatoes and it didn’t stick at all. This pan has exceeded my expectations. ... show more

The words pre-seasoned don't mean you should take your new cookware and throw food in it immediately. Generally, it means a very light, basic seasoning has been added that will keep it from rusting in shipping (or at least that's how I choose to view it). So after receiving this item, I put two coats of seasoning on it. There are a lot of different oils and methods available online, but it can be as simple as rubbing a super thin layer of vegetable oil all over the pan, ensuring there are NO pools, wiping it down with a rag or paper towel to get overspill and baking it for a bit in the oven. After going through this a few times, mine was ready. I used it extensively for homemade pizzas and as a stove top griddle for carnitas for a while, taking care to re-season occasionally. After building up a good coat of seasoning, I decided to order another iron pan for kitchen use and relegate this one to outdoor duty. It has excelled there. This device can be used to turn any grill it fits on top of into an outdoor griddle. I have made fajitas, griddled hotdogs, smash burgers and more on the top of this guy as it sat on too of hot coals on a Weber charcoal grill. Cleanup is a breeze. A light wipe down, a little bit of scraping with a plastic or wood scraper, a drop of dish soap and a good rinse get it ready for the next round. If bits of stuck on debris are stubborn, use some coarse salt and a rag with some water to scour it out. Re-season when done (which I do while other items are cooking on a different shelf in the oven). It's an amazingly versatile item -- stovetop, oven or grill duty ready.
