    • Great beginner drone and I think "professionals" will enjoy flying it as well
I got my HS260 today and even though there were constant 15-20 MPH winds, I quickly ventured outside for a test flight. Since it weighs in at only 140 grams (about 5 oz) I had some reservations, but using the high speed mode and keeping the drone at an altitude under 15 feet I was able to control it and all I can say is "it was a blast" flying it. The things I like most are: 1. 2 batteries are included with a reported flight time of 15 minutes per battery. 2. Fast battery recharge time of about one hour. 3. Propeller guards are included. 4. You can fly this drone using only the transmitter. No smart phone required unless you want to take pictures. 5. It has headless mode for easy flying. 6. It doesn't have GPS so you're up in the air much quicker. 7. Great price and build quality. 8. Great customer service. I think Holy Stone's lineup of beginner drones (HS260, HS280, and HS440) are all great products at a great entry price. Each may have a feature or two that the other ones don't, so you'll want to do a little research to determine which one best suits your taste. ... show more

    • Good beginner drone
We got this for my sons ninth birthday. He’s a little young for the drone, but he knows how to fly it quite well. It seems to fly decently. It is pretty easy to control. It is really light so it Has to be pretty calm to fly it. It does tend to wander in hover mode. We are still learning how to fly it, so I haven’t got any really good pictures yet. I think the batteries last about 20 minutes at most. All in all nice inexpensive drone to learn on. ... show more

    • Easy to fly and takes good videos and stills
I have had other drones and have looked at holly stone drones before but could not afford one but when I found them on line at a very reasonable price I bought one. And they are a lot easier to fly than any other drones I have but of they are of a higher guality, the battery last a guite a while and they don't take less than an hour to recharge,my flight time is about 22 minutes per battery and that is about twice as long as any of other batteries. I love all the features this drone has and I feel sure that is one of the reasons it flies so good and easy. The only thing I have found so far that would be on the negative side is it does not fly very good in wind 2or3miles per hour according to my weather station. But that does in no way makes it a bad drone, I would still rate very good and would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a drone. If I had known the quality was this good I would have tried to get one sooner. ... show more

    • An almost perfect beginner drone!
This is a great beginner camera drone. The box says ages 14+ but my 7 year old can fly it with no problems. The most difficult part of the drone is starting it. The setup is a bit complicated for a 7 year old. The best part about this drone is the optical flow. It works great. The package says it will work up to 20 feet but on days with low wind we got to to hold its position with zero drift at 30 feet. The batteries last for a surprisingly long period but don’t expect to be flying all day. The recharge time is also pretty good. I would definitely recommend the drone to someone who needs a steady and affordable drone to learn on. ... show more

    • Don't waste your money!
Update: The seller sent me an entirely new unit- drone, controller, everything. I still find that it does not work all that well - it's not as responsive as it should be and does not "hover" without constant adjustments. It does not live up to its description. However, I will give them points for amazing customer service. First the controller button got stuck, and it could not be turned on or off. They sent a new controller, and a free mini-drone as an apology. (My kid played with the mini drone for a while, and then that broke too. It won't charge.) But the new controller doesn't matter, because this drone handles like a brick on drugs. A few times it turned on as described and you could sync it up. Sometimes it even calibrated. But most of the time you had to fiddle with the controls and keep moving them in every direction until the drone actually started. Then, if you got it in the air, the real challenge began. Sometimes it responded to input, sometimes it didn't. Most of the time it just did its own thing after launch. Today I launched it and tried to take pics. The pics would not download, and then the drone stopped responding, rose up, banked, and flew straight into a tree, where it is now stuck in the branches. And yes, the batteries were fully charged, and the remote batteries were brand new. A complete waste of money. If I wanted to experience this much frustration, I could have managed it for free. ... show more

    • meh...do your homework before you buy this...but for less than $100 what do you expect?
The media could not be loaded. This is a cool unit for the money and it's ready to go out of the box. However, the drift is real and the higher the altitude, the more extreme the drift, the harder it is to control. So if you're test flying this in your backyard, it may end up on your neighbor's roof or in a tree before too long. Even low level flight, I was keeping it around five feet off the ground, it cannot stay still for long. It will require constant adjustment and if you are new, as I am, you will crash it over and over. The camera is of surprising quality for the money and it does sync to your phone through the app, cool feature for under a hundo. What really sucks is if you do any homework, you will find the batteries have issue (along with the drift issue) and that's why I have to return this...I drained both of my batteries and they refuse to recharge. I DID get enough enjoyment to realize I want to get into this and have a DJI Air 2s on order...with built in GPS and obstacle avoidance, which seems like a better option for a novice all the way up to more experienced, but 14x more expensive if you buy the entry level package. I would say to beware that this is a cheap drone and will perform as such but it is fun and probably outperforms other cheap drones and if you're batteries are good along with the charging, you may end up hanging on to it. ... show more
