Description

Rallyman: DIRT is a roll and move rally game for 1-6 players by Jean Christophe Bouvier. Players take on the role of rally drivers, racing to get the best time around the different stages of a course. Rallyman: DIRT is a dice-based racing game, so to move around the track, you’ll be rolling dice. Each player will use a mixture of Gear, Brake and Coast dice to get their car speeding along the track, and each one can only be rolled once per turn. Each die has a certain number of Warning symbols. If you get 3 in one roll, you’ll lose control of your car, increasing your time and potentially taking damage. You’ll be up against the clock, and the aim of the game is to complete each stage of the rally in the fastest time possible. At the end of each of your turns, you’ll get a Time card, which will add a certain number of seconds to your time depending on how high a gear you are in. The value of these cards is added together at the end of the game to determine your overall time, and the player with the best time wins! Rallyman: DIRT is all about you and the track – planning the perfect trajectory is the key to success! You’ll have to adjust your driving technique to tackle the challenges of each stage, from sharp corners to open water, obstacles and bumps.

    • Fun, easy game, but short on content-
The game is very fun, I mean that honestly, all things aside though I do have some caveats. While there is a lot of map variety in tiles, there are other biomes mentioned that are not present. This is not a design flaw, they want you to buy expansions, which is fine, but you can feel the lack of content in the box. This is also felt in the lack of car types, but the rules for more cars. In other words: if you have any problems with "wanting to own everything" this game may not be for you, but if you are okay with not having everything this is a fun game. There are still hours of fun in this one box, but you will eventually get tired of the same cars and map tiles. The game also suffers from being essentially a solo game played by multiple people at once, in other words, very little interaction with other players. The game is about rally racing, not standard racing. What this means is that each player is racing one after another trying to get the best score. But, now for the good! The components are high quality cardboard with adorable little colored cars. The mechanisms are all fairly comprehensible, and the rulebook is fairly well laid out. The game is not too complex, and there is a fair amount of risk/reward. It really is a fun game, and the solo play is attempting to get the best time, all in all a pretty good game. ... show more

My 12 year old son and I love this game! We purchased every single expansion, along with the original game, RallyMan GT, and loved it. But this one, MAN, so much fun! You will not regret the cost, nor the quality of the game. TONS of replayability.

If you are a fan of rally racing this is the game to play. I like the risk taking and the race against the clock the whole time. It’s quite great for something I Kickstarted and likely never see due the bankruptcy of the company.
