  • This is the wireless mic kit you've been searching for.
I repeat; This is the wireless mic set you’ve been seeking. Don't even add them to your cart, use the buy now feature! Tl;dr version: Buy the Lark Max kit it’s the one you want. At first there there 3 choices, Hollyland Mars lark 150, the Rode wireless Go 2 kit, and the DJI wireless mic kit. Each one of these had benefits and drawbacks. The Hollyland Mars had the best form factor and that charging case was a game changer, and it had incredible range, and the mics it came with were kinda stale sounding, but when paired with a different lab mic, it’s sound was the best. but it was a pain to upgrade for Mac users, and it had no internal storage which was a huge deal breaker for most indie workflows. Now it seems like everyone has a cheap alternative to wireless mic kits, so how do you know which one is for you? Well, what are you doing with it, what sound do you want? how about battery life? file management? when you consider all these things, there seems to be a big 3 that would distinguish itself. Rode wireless Go 2, DJI wireless mic kit, and Hollyland Mars The Rode wireless Go 2 supposedly had the bet sound, and it had internal storage and that’s… kinda where the benefits ended because but it was much more expensive, it had no kit case, just a floppy bag you could carry the gadgets around in, that offered no protection of these sensitive components, then you had to buy lavs for it, and the internal storage was trash, lost my files several times, and all the settings were janky and had to be app controlled. Then there was the batch file collection, oh my God, and the amount of times the files on the internal storage would just get lost. And the amount of updates this kit needed. I felt bamboozled hearing anyone positively review them, this set was such garbage. The DJI mic kit was like a great compromise between the two without a stupid app, could work with virtually any camera, though it did have these annoying slide on clamp components that are easy to lose and expensive to replace, it was self contained in. small case that also stored a few accessories and could keep he devices charged for a decent time, the DJI kit had decent in device controls, decent internal storage and file management, decent range, nothing to write home about- but the sound. It’s not bad, it’s just not stellar either, after hearing what sound could feel like on the Hollyland Lark kit, I was spoiled I guess. But I went with the DJI, they’re small, have their own charging cradle and when paired with decent lava, they produce a flat ok soundscape. They’re not special by any means but they’re do - but I was left wanting more. Enter the Hollyland Mars Lark Max kit. This is the one. Internal storage, internal noise cancellation if you want it (and it works nicely), it’s like they heard all the users of the original Lark 150 kit said “Ok, we hear you, and we’re listening.” And came back with the Lark Max. The lav mics are also an improvement! Seriously this is better in every way. More features, functions, and the bells and whistles you want and need, nothing you don’t. the device kit comes in a carrying case that holds everything you need while still being compact enough to slide into your bag, or sling with it's wrist strap. Inside is the actual module, which is angular as opposed to DJI's roundness (think he iPhone square frame vs. the slippery rounded frame of earlier models). These mic components produce a rich crisp sound that reminds me of a higher quality mic. The snap on wind shields have such a positive response to snapping it in place. The form factor of each transmitter allows a great purchase on your device that when your hands are sweating in 100 degree plus weather you’ll be able to attach these to your talent. And the Range? My God, there are a few Youtube videos that cover the distances so I won’t re-cover the same ground, suffice it to say, it far exceeds your expectations as well. Hollyland has made is so simple to snap go record, pause, play, transmit, transfer receive, edit, work with, and deliver audio, I’ve already decided to go ahead and get rid of my other set. So if you’ve been debating which set of wireless mic kit you need, you don’t have to, it’s already been done, and Hollyland Mars Lark Max is the clear winner. They’ve been used on indie film sets as well as YouTube channel vlog production, content creation, and have impressed some very respected audio engineers, and how do I know this? Because I’m one of the people that has used them for all the use cases and had audio engineers comment on the quality as well as then they’ve gone on to buy them. This is the kit you want. Hollyland Mars Lark Max, like many of the other affordable products they make, punch way above their weightless, and are worth far more than the price they’re charging. Get ‘em, use ‘em, and can’t want to see what you come up with. ... show more

  • Fantastic Quality, Features, and Value - It's a Clear Winner!
I am a full-time video production professional and have been using three of the Lark 150 wireless mic systems for the past few years (6 mics total). Recently Hollyland released a new updated Lark MAX version, which I have been using on many of my commercial shoots. As much as I have loved the Lark 150, I love the Lark Max more! There are many new upgrades that make this system amazing. 1) The battery life is insanely great now. 2) Internal recording!! My 2nd favorite feature. 3) The range and frequency hopping make the system extremely reliable. 4) The ENC (Environmental Noise Cancelling) is especially helpful in reducing reverberation in bad acoustic rooms. 5) The build quality is very rugged. Still tiny and light, but utilizing more metal and heavier duty plastic. 6) Magnetic attachment setup is a nice option if you don't like using the traditional clip. 7) The charging case is even smaller, and a nice hard case is now included to hold and protect everything. 8) The audio quality is cleaner and smoother now, not muddy like many other systems. What I also love is that when you connect to a computer, it opens up just like a hard drive. Other well-known systems require a goofy app interface that is cumbersome to use. The Lark Max is quick and easy to transfer the audio files to your computer. The screen quality and menu system is fantastic and allows for a ton of adjustments...including being able to start recording on either mic from the receiver. This saves you from having to walk back and forth from the "talent" and allows you to not rely on the "talent" to turn it off and on. The range and frequency hopping is totally amazing, and I have yet to have a dropout on any shoot. I have seen independent "deliberate interference" testing that shows this Lark Max works better and at 5x the distance of the other two major competitors. This system is a no-brainer choice, and offers exceptional quality and features for it's price-point. The only major recommendation I have to improve the next version would be to introduce 32-Bit Float Recording...that would make this system nearly perfect. In the meantime, I will continue to use all 8 of my Hollyland Lark Series wireless mics. ... show more
