I had just purchased a new Lenovo which has no HDMI ports. I was looking for a device that would give me dual HDMI outputs along with extra USB ports. Another great feature is the card reader. I was happy it had this as I did not want to buy another separate device. Once I got it, I immediately plugged it into my thunderbolt port. I then connected my 2 monitors ( which are a bit older which gave me cause for concern ) and they both came on and worked with no issues. Next I used 2 of the USB ports for my wireless keyboard and mouse, no issues there as well. I then tried the card reader with an SD card, no issue there either. Later on I did try the additional USB ports to charge some phones etc. Another great thing is that I was given a laptop from work, which is a Dell, which surprisingly has a USB-C port. I say that because it is a couple of years old at this point. I unplugged it from my new laptop and connected it to my work laptop and everything worked. I was very surprised and extremely happy that it "just worked". Now I can switch between laptops instantly and with no issues. This is a great all in one device for someone looking for a quality, inexpensive option. There are a couple of small things I think can be improved upon. First, although the quality seems fine, it is plastic, it would be nice if it was a bit thicker or made from metal with cooling vents. Secondly, when I put in the SD card into the reader, it stuck out about 90% of the way, it does not go in very far. It worries me a bit because it someone where to knock into it accidentally, I feel it can break off inside. Probably won't happen, just would feel better if it went in almost all the way. And lastly, the cable from the unit to the USB-C port is very very short, only about 4 inches. I did buy and waiting for an extension cable, but would be nice if this came with a cable that is at least 12". Only a few small things I have found so far. After much research, I landed on this USB-C hub to run my home office. This one stood out as being able to input two HDMI cables, network cable & run power to my laptop. And it all works flawlessly..........just plug & play, change your display settings and you are up and running. Works great to run an old VGA monitor as well. Highly recommend for your laptop docking station needs, as it has more functions than the ones our IT department has deployed in our office. It is also very small and lightweight if you need to carry it for a presentation The only reason I did not give it a 5-star review is the length of the USB-C cable that connects from the hub to your machine. It is quite short, so the hub has to sit right next to your USB-C port on your machine (within 6"), so you are not able to hide all of the cables that this hub can handle. If they made it detachable (dual USB-C male ends), you could swap out for the length of cable that fit your needs (to conceal all of the cables). But all that said, it would not deter me from buying this again if I needed a second setup. ... show more

I replaced my older business laptop with a premier model from the same manufacturer. My old laptop used a three monitor set up and had peripherals that required a lot of wires to be plugged into it for me to work as I required. It was definitely time for a docking station. My new laptop has a barrel power connector, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, four more USB ports (different types), an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. I actually used many of these ports and was tired of connecting and disconnecting cables every time I wanted to move the laptop and use it on battery power without the peripherals. The Hiearcool USB C Hub, USB-C Laptop Docking Station was the answer to my specific needs. I have used this device every day for more than a month and it has performed exactly as promised. I plug this docking station into a single USB 3 Thunderbolt port of my laptop with everything else plugged into it. Seamless. I researched these devices for many hours over a period of months. There are a lot of laptop docking stations on the market. I was amazed by the size and cost of many of them because they were larger, had fewer ports and cost much more. I do recognize that some of the larger competitive devices included their own power source. This may have accounted for their larger sizes and greater costs. This unit does not have a power supply. Because of my hardware, I am able to power the docking station from one Thunderbolt 3 connector to the laptop. It gets warm, but the system functions as expected. In summary, this laptop docking station has a lot of connections available. It does everything I need and does not take up much space. I highly recommend this docking station if your use and needs are anything like mine. ... show more
