Been working for years with a simpler smart card reader that just sort of hung on my desk. I was forever putting stuff on it, losing it down the back of the desk, or even treading on it when it fell on the floor. When I replaced my computer, I saw this and couldn't resist it. No setup required, just plug it in and it's ready to use. I like using the included stand that keeps my smartcard upright and easy to see; it keeps me from forgetting to remove it once logged in.

Very good product, much better than other smart card readers. Can require some effort to set up on some Linux distributions. Overall I can definitely recommend this product. The physical design of the product is also well made and will probably last a lot longer than other readers I've bought from other manufacturers. If you are working from home and you work in an area where you need a device like this...you know what it does. Anyway this version is simply a plug and play device on a windows 10 laptop. It simply worked right off the bat and I did nothing but simply connect it and then use the appropriate card. I will buy another one for a spare, I like this for the reason I noted (it works) and that it stands vertical. Yea its plastic ...but so far its been a great tool that works well. ... show more

I have a government issued smart card that I needed to use for my office machine. This card reader was able to read that card without issue. However, I bought this specific version because I wanted to be able to read the smart log card for the the C2 rowing machine. This card reader was recognized by the C2 software and I was able to get the logs off the card without any issue. This reader is much much cheaper than going with the C2 branded card reader ... show more

It did not work as anticipated with my Mac when I originally purchased it. However, now that I am using it as an employee of the company rather than a contractor, it works great. It works on the company computer. It did not work on my own computer with the company card.

Have not yet been able to get it to read my card. Card works fine in the rowing machine, but does not register in the reader.
