Updated again on 11NOV2024. Back to 5 stars. Turned out I needed a Windoze 10 (mis-spelled on purpose with a tone of derision) update, which has returned functionality of this card reader with the USB hub cited below. Getting 75Mbs with an XC II SD ScanDisk card of video files, which is better than the 18Mbps download on this reader with an XC I SD card. Updated 11NOV2024. Downgraded from 5 to 3 stars. Had this issue initially but thought it could me me. Me? rig builder since 1994, software expertise, database creator content creator /editor etc. This card readers has continued to give me issues of not working with my high-end USB hub at 12V 10Gbps in either USB or USB-C connections. I have to unplug that peripheral hub (video editing hardware, camera, Wacom tablet, etc.) and plug them card reader directly into my computer to work. It is a gaming rig with high end GPU, 48GB RAM, etc. Keyboard and mouse are connected via KVM of course. I think the card reader is a power hog, but I like the fast download speeds for video files my my DLSRs and camcorders. I often have to restart the Computer after using the card reader since my hub is not aways recognized when reconnecting it, which negates the faster download speed of this card reader. Original 08OCT2024 This card reader has much better speed for downloading photos and videos from my varied format cards for DLSR's, Camcorders, Drones, and 4K Gimbal Cameras. I have cards from Compact Flash (CF) through some of the latest, from which I download video and photos to my robust desktop computer. Real world speeds improved from about 125-125Mbps to about 300-350Mbps. Even faster with newer cards. Speeds vary according to card type, number of files, and size of files, as expected. Like the subject says, this is my second reader (the older C368 is almost 2 years old). I decided to purchase the C368PRO model because I like the idea of being able to alternate between USB-A or USB-C connections. My MAC has four USB-C ports and my doc has only one USB-A port, so it just made sense. The first time I plugged in the reader to the USB-C port on my MAC, I didn't push it in completely. It was a bit stiff at first, so I thought it was seated and the connection dropped while I was looking at files. This was 100% my fault. Once I pushed it a bit harder, it "clicked" (and so did my brain!). "You gotta push it all the way in, man!" From then on, the card reader worked very well with good speed when transferring data. I mostly use the reader to view high definition photos on SD, MicroSD and CF cards. The photos range from 3MB up to almost 20MB and I am pleased that I can preview from the card without bogging down my computer. It has always connected fast, and most importantly, it just WORKS. Obviously there are other variables to consider like your USB port speed and/or card speed, but as far as the reader is concerned, it works and works well. Highly recommend. ... show more

I own a Canon rebel t7 and for some reason couldn’t upload photos from my camera to my computer the way it would tell me to. I bought this SD card reader and it was so much easier finding those photos and saving them. This literally saved me so much stress and the card reader has different size slots to fit different size SD cards. Would highly recommend this. ... show more
