I've been really happy with the 5-inch sized unit. It has indicated very well for me and appears well made. It is plenty big enough for my little mill-drill without being insanely overbuilt like the US sized 6" units. I do not regret the purchase and expect years of work out of this investment.

The 3" version of this vice is a solid compliment to a mini mill....It looks appropriately scaled and fits nicely, yet sacrifices zero in the work-holding realm...Other pieces can be shaking off the table, the bench rumbling in anger, and this vise stays put and in control. I personally have not used the swivel base yet, and only purchased a vise with it "just incase". but the vise is precision made, and the jaws are changable, and reversible. It is a fairly small vise but it opens more than its width which is handy. The handle is slightly mis sized so I can see easily stripping either the handle or rounding the shaft for it. Holds well enough.

The actual part of the vice that is important is perfect. Dial indicator shows zero run out on all surfaces. What I wasn't that fond of is the casting part. Its pretty bumpy but for the price this works for my mini mill!! The bumpy casting is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Oh and my tests were without the bottom rotate part... ... show more

I have not used this yet just disassembled it, cleaned it in diesel, oiled it with heavy medium, & reassembled it. It seems to very nice for the price. It has a couple bad spots from casting, but they are in places that will not affect the integrity of the vise. I will update this review after use.

but the handle was so loose you could not tighten the vise. Not repairable. Had to throw it away and used a socket. Otherwise, not bad.

Vice is pretty well made. Could have use a little better flash removal. The reason for four stars is the fixed jaw has a .001 bow in the middle.

Pin on the handle broke almost immediately. Strong sturdy everywhere else though. It's worth the money.
