I was tired of poisonous non-stick pans that didn't distribute heat well and only stayed non-sticky for a few months and then needed to be replaced. The only drawback to the Heston pan is how heavy it is. Also, it's obviously not 100 percent copper. I didn't expect it to be. I have decided to get rid of my nonstick Calphalon pans..I love them but the coating comes off and I"m very careful with my pans. I decided to try Hestan. First thing I cooked was scrambled eggs. I oiled the pan well but the eggs stuck really badly and was hard to get out. I forget what I cooked next in it but whatever it was, it was fine..so I tried eggs again, this time using olive oil to coat the pan. It was slightly better but the eggs still stuck to the pan however the pan cleaned up much easier. I'm hoping it's just a matter of getting used to these as I want to get more pcs. This one has just been my trial piece. It is a beautiful pan, I will say that April 7, 2022 I thought I would add a little update. I don't use this pan that often, but I have cooked scrambled eggs a few more times...first coating the pan with olive oil, getting the oil hot before adding the eggs and then turning the heat down. They still stick but not as badly. I soaked the pan in hot water and it came clean easily. I will need to polish the copper but years ago when I had Revere ware copper bottom pans, I had to polish those as well. I hate not having it be a non stick pan but I spent a lot of money on the Calphalon only to have the nonstick peel off....so that's a waste. I never wash my pans in a dishwasher so that doesn't bother me either. ... show more

If you want ornamental pots and pans, go for it. But if you actually want to use them, move on. I thought these were beautiful but after one use the copper color is gone for all but a gross yellow tinge. They scratch so easily and one has water stains from cleaning it (never even used). And they aren’t dishwasher safe. The practicality of these is nil and hopefully this helps keep you from making a quick decision on aesthetics only. ... show more

My pots and pans are on display on a hanging rack so appearance is not as important as functionality but still important to me. This cookware looked horrible after the first few uses. I love the way it cooks but hate the way it looks unless you want to polish it after every use. It's also very heavy - so heavy I cannot manage the sautee pan with one hand. Nothing Italian about this set, nothing but poor Chinese quality, very disappointed. The bad set was returned and another set delivered, this new set is of better quality and workmanship. I’m pleased with the set only time will tell if it’s worth the money.

I haven’t cooked with high end cookware before and I’m tempted not to. This is a beautiful piece of cookware but…. It’s not non-stick or dishwasher safe. I did like the heat distribution but cleaning this thing is a chore. I only bought this one pan to test and I’m sorry I spent so much on it. Once you use it the beautiful copper tarnishes. It still works but the beauty is gone unless you polish it. Gonna try another brand that had a copper core but is dishwasher safe. This is a good pan. Just don’t buy it because it looks good.
