I read the other reviews that said the size is a bit small and to go up a size. I ordered up (from M to L, for my 33" waisted husband), but noticed that it bunched/pleated around his core, when he put it on. The sizing chart is probably correct. However, the wings sort of make up for the belt's extra length, so he can still use this item. Spouse likes using this belt with his standing desk at work (>12 hrs. standing daily), to give extra back support and give some protection to his umbilical hernia--he notices it doesn't hurt when he coughs, while wearing the belt. However, at some point during his day, he needs to sit, and that's when he has to remove it: Support is great while standing, but it becomes uncomfortable when he's in the sitting position. Like that there's plenty of velcro to secure, plus the wings really help customize a better fit. Still looking for a perfect belt that's comfy to use both standing and sitting. Update: We also bought the less wide belt from Abdomencare, and switch out the support needed, when he sits. Overall, swapping the belts whenever sitting/standing has yielded the best results for him. ... show more

May be good for a person with a long torso & not too many or large rolls. I'm a short 280 lbs soft & big rolls so it wasn't comfortable. It dug in my ribs & hips & bunched up terribly. Very uncomfortable. But the sturdiness & material appeared to be very good. Hey ... trial & error.

The belt gives support, it stays in place but there is an extra 8” of flap that hangs loose and without adding some Velcro and modifying it would be hard to wear in public. Works good at home. The circular pad doesn’t extend into the umbilical area so it doesn’t fully prevent hernia strangulation but it is the best support I’ve had yet and I feel more protected with it on. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn’t have a support belt yet. ... show more

I had four major incisional hernias two of which were compromised with intestines and I did not want to use synthetic mesh which all of the surgeons wanted to use with the exception of one of my local general surgeons who was willing to do my surgery with a bio-mesh. The only thing he insisted on was that I wear a hernia belt pretty much 24/7 with the exception of bathing. The one that was provided to me from the hospital was awful, so I searched until I found this one and I love it. It so comfortable and I can cinch it tighter when I need more support and loosen it when I don’t. Definitely size up but other than that, it’s absolutely perfect!! My Doctor even wanted me to send him the link so that he could recommend this belt to his other patients. I know that I’ll be wearing this when doing any major activities for the rest of my life but it makes it worth it with this hernia belt! ... show more

Laparoscopic VSG surgery can leave you with one specific inscisional area that is still tender a few days later. This comes with a little pad on the inside that is removable but INCREDIBLY helpful for that one area. I placed it in the right spot and I'm using this daily now in my recovery process. It's helped tremendously and I'm not as afraid to sneeze, laugh, go for a walk. I no longer need to hold that side, this support binder does it all for me. Also a huge fan of the side supports. They are what provides that light pressure you need. (I got another white one first, but bought this after and I wish I used it first) ... show more
