  • Hercules makes a great stand
I have various kinds of Hercules stands, and they are all well-made and sturdy. This alto flute stand also works for a bass flute. I wish the stand itself were just a little taller, but it works! Now, I need them to make a stand that has pegs for all my flutes - bass (which, as I said, the alto peg works, but I wish it was a bit longer), alto, "C" flute, AND piccolo! (Put that on my Christmas wish list!) ... show more

  • Good flute stand for Alto Flute
This Alto Flute stand arrived earlier than expected, and looks very sturdy. It holds my Alto Flute securely.

  • Typical Hero Instrument stand
I would prefer that the peg itself were thicker as the Alto Flute is quite wobbly on this peg, but it serves its purpose. I use this as a triple stand for alto flute, flute and piccolo (flute & piccolos pegs were purchased separately) and haven’t had any issues.

  • Good and Sturdy Stand
I recently purchased an alto flute for a musical pit orchestra I played in. I knew the instrument would fall off of my lap (and be difficult to work with) so I ordered this stand. It came very quickly, and it is great. It's very heavy so I'm not worried about it falling over if I bump my alto flute and it has a padded stand so I don't worry about damaging my flute putting it on and take it back off. Great item. In the future I will look at purchasing the flute and piccolo pegs for this stand - great idea. ... show more

  • Quite satisfactory stand.
The stand works very well for my alto flute, either with the straight or curved headjoint. The stand is very stable, even on carpet. I don't think I would trust any stand less stable or secure for a curved headjoint alto flute. I am quite impressed with my Hercules stand and would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • More security for your money...and instruments!
I have been looking for an alto flute stand for a while. This stand allows me to attach my flute and piccolo pegs to it as well. The alto sits close to center on the stand and does so very securely. Added my flute and piccolo as well and found it even MORE stable than my older Hercules stand (however, that one was even better than most on the market). I have tried many different stands and find that Hercules stands are, by far, superior to any other stand that I have tried. Most other stands that I have tried aren't as "heavy" as the Hercules, tend to be wobbly and instruments do not sit as securely. The bases seem to be too small to prevent tipping when loaded with multiple instruments. ... show more

  • Great for alto flutes, risky for bass flutes
This stand is sturdy, has soft parts where it touches your instrument, and is quick and easy to set up and take down. Some people want to know if it works for bass flutes as well. While it is stable enough to hold the larger flute, the peg only reaches the foot tenon on the bass and could damage the joint. The peg should be a couple of inches longer to safely hold a bass flute. Hercules - are you listening? I'd buy a bass flute peg in a heartbeat if you made one! ... show more

  • Ugly, uneven -- don't like it
Really, these things are the ugliest damned stands. If you like having your alto flute look like a piece of Caterpillar farm equipment, then this is the stand for you .... another thing really annoying is that it never stands straight up perpendicular to the ground... it's always on a slight angle, which is annoying and does not promote even drainage of moisture... if your Eb key is on the low side, it could actually make that wetter! Also it's really heavy.... ... show more
